Just in case anyone is interested, the Houston Region SCCA is holding their September Regional event on Sunday, September 4, 2005. More info here:

http://www.houscca.com/solo2/solo2.aspx

The course looks fun. The finish looks YeeHaa!!

We'll be in the Crash Test Dummy Firebird in CP, testing our new LCA relocation brackets. Can't wait.

Yeah, I put the hard compounds on the right side (screwed up my tire order, and didn't notice until after my first event with them) in anticipation of that finish. Hopefully, I will be able to help with setup so the YeeHaa factor stays. :-)

Wow, tight course. There definitely was a proper line on that course, and if you missed it, you were PUNISHED. One of the fastest finishes I remember at a Houston Region event. Really wished for more HP then! I almost beat Tony in the Grabber Orange Rustang, but couldn't get past his HP and _sticker_ Hoosiers. Came pretty close, though.

I really enjoyed that course, although in FS it was definitely made for a 3rd-gen like mine. Except for the finish. Like you said, Gene, it was fast and I was missing having power. I was also debating going to 3rd, but decided not to tempt fate. Instead I just sat on my TPI-induced 5k-rpm rev limiter, looked in the mirror and combed my hair, whistled a tune, got the baseball scores on the radio, etc. while I waited for the finish line to go by.

PS - Why couldn't GM have put an LS1 in the 3rd-gen?!?!?

No, everybody _needs_ Hoosier slicks!! :-)

Yeah, the finish was one where you really wanted more HP than you could use. Wished we had our new engine, or at least had borrowed Art Martinez' MSE T/A.

I wish I would have been able to run the camaro this event - it would have been a lot more fun! And I thought it was just me who wanted more power at the finish.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Definately was a handful in the Tacoma though... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) If ever there was a course to teach you to slow way down to enter the corners this was it!
