QUOTE (v7guy @ Sep 3 2005, 11:53)
The gas was sitting at 2.16 last night for premium.

Amazing, I was happy to find a station at $2.99 last night considering the day before it was $3.31 and most stations are still $3.19+.

Just trying to keep my tank full lately just in case we end up in a rationing situation...

$2.89 for regular here now. To be honest I don't understand some of the whining myself. Annually for me the cost increase isn't enough to kill me and I'm a college student. I'm going to keep driving my truck and car as much as before since I have no other choice. Damn President Bush for requesting that hurricane! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Seriously listening to some people they seem to believe that.

Prices seem to have stabilized aorund here (if you can call staying the same for a day stable) at $3.29 for regular, $3.39 for "midgrade" (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) and $3.49 for super - of course there are higher, I try to avoid them.

To me, the issue is how rapidly prices have increased. A fourty percent increase in one week is a little steep, for any product. Doesn't quite pass the smell test, hurricane or no.

I remember watching the news with my wife this time last summer. The topic of gas prices was being discussed and the newscaster (forget which one) asked the analyst whether we'd see $3.00 per gallon. The analyst stopped to think for a second and answered, "no, not this year".

I looked at my wife and said, "Remember that! He said not this year. Bet you we see $3.00 per gallon next year"

Well, here we are....
