If Jon would've started selling the LCAs and PHBs that are written up on his page rather then publishing the data, he might have a large stack of greenbacks. I just wish I had a nickel for every site or person (myself included) that claims that they're "building" those same LCAs and PHBs you wrote about.

Not sure if you realise it or not, but your ideas have definitely made an impact on the F-body aftermarket. I'm probably not the first schmuck to come to this conclusion, but I figured it was worthy of a post since I've never seen one acknowledging it.

If I ever meet ya, the first beer is on me. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

IMO what Jon did with these LCA's and PHR is not big deal. (hear me out some of you because I know how some of you are)

What he DID do, and does, is to urge the f-body guys to get off there butts and figure things out. You can't always, and shouldn't take someone's word for it.

And this includes for the PHR, LCA's. He tells us what is what because he's a nice enough guy about it. But if anyone else would have gotten off their butts to figure out what tubing is available, and what rod ends, lengths etc, then the credit just for that could have went to anyone.

I had a steel PHR that was homebuilt on my car in late 01', and an aluminum PHR in 03'

If I'm off base Jon just tell me so. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Lonnie is right. And Jon won't take all the credit you're trying to give him. He's said before he read about it on a Mustang site. The problem with f-body owners, as I hit upon on in the suspension/chassis intro, is that they're lazy. Everyone wants to buy a powdercoated solution instead of putting in effort themselves. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It's not rocket science all the parts have been available for stock cars for years.

I agree ...

the innovators and risk takers have pretty much been beat up so often, they just grew tired of it ...
I guess cookie-cutter same old, same old is good enough ...

I remember just a few months ago that Eibach Pro spring rates were the end all to beat all and LG rates were WAY too stiff ... now there is a scramble for 600+ on the fronts ...

Thanks guys. I'm glad I've been able to help some people. But Rob is right on--I didn't invent any of this stuff. So don't give me too much credit--I can't really think of anything I've advocated that hasn't already been proven elsewhere, even if it is unfamiliar to the mainstream F-body world.

Sorry I haven't been around that much lately. I can hardly keep up with my inbox these days.

Back when Chris (FRRAX’s founder) first asked me about starting the site, I emailed him that I didn’t see much chance of it taking off. It was such a small niche that the site would appeal to, that it would have to become THE ONLY real place for serious F-body corner carvers for it to have any chance of succeeding.

I said that I thought it might work if the right key figures were to become active here; people whose opinions racers universally respected. Jon A. was one of the 2 names I mentioned to Chris that he needed to recruit. I won’t mention the other name so many of you can imagine that it was you. We were fortunate to get the participation of both, and of many other gifted people, and it has all blended together very well.

Now going on 2 years and we are pushing 1000 members. But early on, Jon was a marquee member who drew a lot of us here. Thanks Jon; you were worth your $2000 celebrity endorsement fee.

Hell Yea, what he said!

Ironically, I've been contemplating for a few weeks now starting a similar thread regarding the recent contributions of Alan Blaine, which have, IMO added noticably to the practical tech here. (maybe it's just the cool photos (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) My motivation was, in part, a concern that he would fade away with a sense that we did not appreciate these contributions.

Clearly, Jon A and a few others who comprise the BACKBONE of this forum go through their efforts largely unheralded. It's sad, and a testament to the anonymity of the internet, but I simply took him for granted, despite avariciously reading and rereading his posts. All of them.

And for the record, while I rarely post, I read EVERY thread here. Thanks to all of you who contribute. It should be said more often

Separate note.. I remember when LG springs and HD's were the best. And you can ask anyone with LS1 Pro-kits if I ever told them is was the "end all to beat all". FWIW. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Give it rest Mitch, and don't rain on Jon's parade.

Anyway, let me thank those of you who take the time to say thanks in general (to whoever that may be).

I read all most everything here over and over, and I still don't understand half of it (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) So I depend on the knowledge of the "VET's" here to guide me, I just wish they all got along better!

Sometimes just doing something is the easy part. Documenting it and making it so other people can follow is the tedious part that doesn't benefit the original party. Kind of like somebody in their 70's planting trees. They're doing it for the ones that follow, not really for themselves... So I appreciate that. I agree. A few us mentioned how much of an asset Alan is in a post a month or so ago. His contributions seem truly genuine and are very valuable to this forum just like Jon A's, Jason S, and many others. I wish Alan had more parts to sell, b/c I'd love to $upport him for his contributions. He is making me a billet steering wheel adjuster when I figure out what thickness I need (but that is a cheap part).

This is undoubtedly the best forum that I participate in.

I'll ditto these posts. Alan's posts are almost always filled with useful tech that tell you the reason why to do it one way and what the downfalls are of a another.

The reason I really appreciate both Alan and Jon so much is that I hardly ever get the motivation to write things up. It definitely takes someone who wants to help to do this. I'm going to try my best to do that on the new car I just picked up as I'm gutting it and working on it. It's definitely hard to do though.

Once again, thanks for all the info on helping this newbie stay safe, go fast, and do it myself! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif)
