Seems that Kurt Busch was an ahole, but the cop probably was as well.
Either way, this has been a lot to do about nothing. Blowing a .017 is well within a legal limit and he should not have been jailed for that. That said... I can't stand Busch and he probably deserved it for being a huge ahole. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

QUOTE (rmackintosh @ Nov 19 2005, 09:21) I personally HATE this about pro athletes more than ANYTHING.....I doubt Rousch benched him for nothing....EVEN they said "...we are not in the business of being Busch appologists any more...." Rousch Racing benched Busch for one reason and one reason only. Because he is jumping ship next year for greener pastures and this was a way for them to get one last parting shot in on him before he left. You better believe if he was racing for them next year the spin would have been quite a bit different. Heck, they may have even launched an investigation into why Busch was "hassled" so much by the Maricopa County Sherriffs office. Busch certainly could have handled himself better, but he didn't and paid the price for it. That sort of thing happens. |

I think the real reason Busch is leaving is that Roush controls the money/royalties made from souveniers, and Busch wanted more say in that. Ironically enough, he's going from one alcohol sponsor to another, so it will be interesting to see how Penske monitors/controls this issue. Fortunately for Busch, the incident happened at the end of the season, and the issue will lay low (somewhat) through the off-season until testing starts up. I'm sure the newsrags will try to hype it up for ratings again though. |
