I was put in charge of picking out a GPS for my my dad's present. I've narrowed it down to 3 choices, anyone have some input?

TomTom 700- looks to be the most 'gimicky' but I'm not sure why, can get traffic and weather updates with a bluetooth phone and acts as a hands free device (if dad ever gets a bluetooth phone), known more for thier European roots and use a lesser quality set of maps, rarely talked about on the GPS forums, battery should last 4 to 6 hours

Garmin c340- some have issues with locking up but others are fine, battery last 4 to 8 hours, better screen than the TomToms, most detailed maps (may be the same for below), only 2 buttons (power and volume), RDS antenna for traffic alerts (optional)

Garmin 2720- not really 'my first gps' type of unit, mounts to dash (not a suction cup to the windshield, no battery, all maps loaded, only use the usb connection to program a route (can be done without a computer... easier too), RDS antenna optional, speaker mounted in the power cable, killer display that adjusts automatically, comes with a remote to access all of the functions

All 3 have an optional antenna for better reception, the batteries are nice so you don't have to plug it in to program it (2720 comes with home adapter) or plug it into the car for a shorter trip. The prices are close enough to ignore the difference. The first two tend to get washed out in the sunlight.

I'm leaning towards the 2720 since if it were for me, but dad and complicated things with buttons don't get along that well. Most of the info I found was from gpspassion.com so all of those users are like us with our cars, really picky, want it all, etc.

At this rate I'll just get him an atlas and a compass. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)
