I've found a deal on factory Helm service manuals, but only up to 2001. The 2001 book is $67.50, the 2002 is $135. Is there any good reason that I can't use a 2001 manual for an '02 car?

The EGR was gone, the Z06 intake was there and I think that covers the main differences....or does it?

The EGR and manifold changes had already happened in 2001. I think the pistons and/or rings were changed in 2002.

If you decide to pass on the 2001 book, please point me toward the seller (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i don't see any reason why you couldnt. there are some other changes but the book wouldnt even cover those. programming changes are the biggest difference.

ive got helms manuals for many different of the C5 years but not all of them. i havent come across any differences that mattered yet.

I ordered a 2001 manual. If not, I can probably sell it for what I paid for it and buy the 2002.

No problem. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I found the deal through dumb luck. Since Garrett's (pimpmaro's) car is being a real PITA, I decided it was time to order the book that I'd been putting off ordering for too long. I got there and found the sale.

We'll see how a 2001 book does on a pair of 2002's, if not, I'll have a 2001 book for sale soon.....

Damn good deal. I'm going to buy one also. I had one for my 2000 Honda Civic Si, and it was probably the greatest manual I have ever owned. Helms makes a hell of a book.

Found on Ebay Helm DVD-ROM covering all 98-05 GM cars for less than $20 including shipping (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Really needed it for my Metro (which is 95), but figured tranny would be the same as the 98, or close enough so that i could use it to rebuild it.

I use a '94 helm for my '95 and it's been fine. Similar situation, just a few small differences the vented opti on mine being one of them.

I'll make you a better deal... I have a DVD burner. I'll let you premanently borrow my "legal backup copy" for a small fee.

PM me if anyone else is interested too. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
