Haven't been too active posting lately, but I've been lurking. Here's some stuff I've been working on. Don't mind the messy garage...

16x12 for the front...

16x14 for the rear...

and yes, they will poke like that (working on the flares)

And i went to install my S&W cage today (which is super nice) and I found...

RUST!!!!

Luckily, that's about all the rust the car has. Thanks for listening.

Good thing that's all it's got. Shouldn't be too hard to patch up. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Looks like the beginnings of a CP car! May you look to Ron Vermulm for inspiration . . .

I've been more than looking to him - I've bombarded him with emails and have purchased parts from him!

Plans are carbed small block 427, TKO-600, custom 3 link, very modified 8pt bar, Ford 9", fiberglass front clip, rear deck lid and bumper, misc lightening, etc.

I really can't wait. This was my daily back in college, and I'm looking forward to it being a "street legal" CP monster.

That's a lot of tire sticking out past the rear fenders to clip cones. I'd be inclined to try 16x12 at all four corners so you can drive a tighter line and so you'll be able to rotate the tires. Alternately, can you uses tubs in CP to allow the wheels to move in a little?

Howdy,

You know wheels more than 12" wide are illegal in CP, right?

The rear wheels are 16x12, but the tires are 16x14.

It is a lot sticking out, but that's just a mock-up on the rear. There is no wheel there. The springs will move a little more inboard and the tires will come in a little. Plus, looking at the picture, they seem like they come out further than they really do. Total protrusion from the widest part of the stock body is about 4 inches.

That has been the goal with my car also. I've been running 27x13's on 16x12 Real wheels tucked in pretty tight to aviod clipping cones, but I get some serious rubbing from time to time, so I'm looking for ways to get more tire clearance on the inside only.

I've tried both bias ply and radial 13 inch slicks; interesting thing is the bias tires don't rub hardly at all. Apparently the radials are much more flexy.
