I am pleased to officially announce a partnership with UMI Performance to run the 2006 Texas Region Camaro Mustang Challenge series in the #8 UMI Performance Z28 Camaro.

We hope to debut the car in March at Motorsports Ranch in Cresson, Texas.

Ryan has afforded us this great oppurtunity to not only showcase the suspension parts he markets for F-Bodies, but to also put his parts to the ultimate test ... RACING! Ryan and the gang at UMI Performance are eager to see just how well the parts perform in order to better serve UMI customers.

Unlike racing, in this case, everyone wins!

I'm actually very stoked.

I received the parts Ryan wants to run today and they look awesome.

Glenn and I will be testing the Lower Control Arms, Panhard Bar, subframe connectors and Shock Tower Brace. I am very impressed with the workmanship.

Mitch, that's awesome! A sponsorship and a cool instructor gig. Looks like you've mastered the networking / self-promotion side of racing. Care to share your secrets?

Congrats!

I like hearing this! For UMI to put their parts to real racing tests, that's confidence!

And they picked the right guys to bash 'em! I liken Mitch to Warren Johnson, "The Professor"...

I installed the 2pt SFC's from Ryan last week. They were nice-although I did do some shimming for proper fit-up in a few areas.

Lord knows I've gone through my share of "spares".

But I'm telling you guys, after getting my hands on these parts, they are impressive.

That's good info, Rob.

Ryan wants that kind of feedback from this community.

Yeah. There were a couple things I'd change but they were nicely done. And with GM build tolerances I can't expect them to be dead on. The shimming was very small.

Oh and be careful with the driver's side install since the LT1 fuel lines are at the front connection point.

It was a shame to burn up all that nice powder coat though. I stitch welded them along their entire length to the pinch weld along the body on each side. I'm sure that's not CMC legal. Ryan has pretty good prices on most of his items and the rod ends are nice quality.

I'm just waiting for someone to make a panhard bar from swedged aluminum tubing with wrench flats. Hint, hint. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Then hell! He needs an AI Camaro to showcase his goods and beat on them in the way that only an AI car can! I've got a black AI Camaro in the garage that is ready to kick some ass and take some names in AI West this year and that has plenty of space for stickers. In fact I'm putting a carbon fibre hood on there this week that doesn't even have its AI sticker on there yet. Plenty of real estate.

And this car took second place the last time it ran a full season - and there's been a ton of development in the two years since.

(Mitch - somehow you've inspired the marketing guy in me)

Congrats Mitch!

Is there any reason one of those CMC cars couldn't run an Open Road Race? I think it would be fairly cheap and give you good exposure to a different group of folks as well.

Ft. Stockton ain't that far and it would be great to see all of your team there.

That's what I'm saying! Good job! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) I just want someone to pay for tires and brake pads.....I'd paint my car purple and put billboards on it for that! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
