We had somebody on here from that site at one time.

Did they ever finish their LS1 swap into a 3-series?

Not AFAIK, despite what the website says it hasn't been updated since late last summer.

Too bad, its a super cool project and they're doing a great job on it.

The bmw/ls1 project is semi-on-hold as Fair has sold his house and it will be a few months before the new house is done and he has a place to work on it again.

I've known them for....oh...more than 15 years. Good guys and they put on a hell of a LAN party as well as motorsports participation and such.

I'm trying to figure out how everyone is "related" ...

Are these the guys who built an El Camino to use at drifting events?

Nope. Entirely different group of people.

However, the Vorshlag folks, Bubba Drift folks, and some on this board have all been a product of the Texas A&M Sports Car Club, which is how we're all "related". Heck, even Casey Weiss is a TAMSCC'er.

Yeah, the Vorshlag guys are all in Dallas and James Evans with the drifting Camino (ls1 supercharged) is in College Station.

College Station is the home of Texas A&M University (go aggies, WHOOP!) and the TAMSCC (Texas A&M Sports Car Club) which is the (as Nick said) connection. Fair and Soup (Casey Weiss) went in the late 80s and most of the Vorshlag group is from late 80s to mid 90s.

Well just to tie up the loose ends ...

I bought Dean's rollback trailer which found a new home in Houston ...

And glenn ought the 11" ZR1s they had for sale forever ....

And Mr. Costas, I met you at a convenience store about 2 miles north of TWS when I was entered in one of Jack turner's MSC events.

How long has TAMSCC been around, anyway?

That's right! It was early morning and we were loading up on ice!!

TAMSCC has been around since 1967!

Many national tour winners, divisional winners and national SOLO champs have come from the old air force base runways just outside of College Station!!

Next year is a big reunion...30 years of gearheads at TAMU!!

Yeah...I HATED that car. Hated every minute of the perfect-suspension, great-balance, awesome-high-rpm-power....it was horrible.

My wife wired it up and all the factory gauges worked (8bit to 16bit ECU...had some work to do there!) and it looked stock under the hood.

I'd love to do that to my B4C, but I just can't bring myself to. It is one of the few truly stock ones left so I keep it the way it is.

Dean!s car: http://www.witchdoctormotorsports.com/wd-n...-news-ch23a.htm

and I just put a fresh motor in mine too (TWICE!!! :-(
http://www.witchdoctormotorsports.com/ch46.htm

hehehehe...

The 30yr should be awesome and planning begins this fall IIRC.

It's been a while since I have visited your website ...

Looking through the "News", I came across this ...

http://www.witchdoctormotorsports.com/wd-n...de0607mar04.htm

I was there that weekend and remember that off track excursion that Jason had made. There was mud packed between the K-Member and oil pan!

I also recall all the hoopla over Andy's broken wheel and the speculation that the heat cycling caused by powder coating caused the failure. Andy sold the Z06 and bought an RSR ...

I see you are now in San Antonio. I have a sponsor that is from San Antonio. Steve owns Natwell Welding Supply and drives a C5 at TDE and NASA events ... was the Texas region TTA Time trials Champion last year. If you need some welding supplies, look him up and tell him Mitch sent you.

Yeah, that is one of the 'most linked' pages on my whole site. It has been linked to TONS of vette sites, engineering sites, metallurgy forums, and tons of make specific (camaro, nsx, evo, sti, anything type R, etc).

Jason went off RIGHT in front of me and when he hit that big mud puddle about 40 YARDS off the track he nearly hit my b4c with flying mud!!! Jason now has an Elise that he has offered to me a few times and I can't wait to drive.

Awesome news on the welding guy, I'll shift my business (small...but still) to him for sure. I'll be sure and tell him that Mitch said he is funny looking and smells!

;-)
