I didn't realize there were disconnects. Any available through your source?
Steve Steve you need to get the "quick disconnects" for your HANS. Just tape the tethers to front of the helmet and that way all you have to do is reach forward and yank and it will come undone. I think the quick disconnects are a 50-60 upgrade.

Due to the sheer amount of people I have on this now, the vendor will be shipping direct to you. So that means you will get your device at least 5 days earlier. They are charging a 10.00 flat shipping fee.
You have until FRIDAY morning to have your order in. 3/10/06 After that it goes back to full price. |

Boyce really put himself out to make this happen. Considering how important track safety is and how critical the HANS is to it, it's really thoughtful of him to arrange a bargain on them. My wife will be less nervous this season and I'll be safer. Great job, thanks! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

10 paid for units! WOOT WOOT! So that guarantees the pricing.
Should be at least 6-8 more by friday, minimum. I don't know why people have to wait till the last minute but that seems to be how its working. LOL! Bad news is that my wife backed out of the deal we had so I could get my HANS. I was waiting to be the last person to oder for this reason, I had a feeling she would do this. QUOTE We need 8 people on this and I have 3 commited. PLEASE contact me ASAP if you want in on this. More info can be seen here http://www.openroadracing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1239 The ORR forum seems to be down at the moment. Can we pick different anchor, strap, and padding colors like the big shot pro version? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

My HANS device arrived today. Will be mounting the attachment hardware in the next day or so. It comes with instructions and appears to be a simple process. However, there was a thread with detailed procedures and good pictures posted on C.C. a while back. It's a good supplemental reference. Haven't searched for it , so I don't have the link handy at the moment.
Anyway, A huge thanks to Boyce for setting up this GP. Not only did I save $125, I also now have the most important piece of personal safety gear in time for the start of the season. This is a big relief for me and my family as well. Thanks Boyce! I'm an internet techno-idiot. Pics will have to wait until my son can get some with his camera and post them. Sorry for the delay.

Not to poison this thread as I have a HANS device as well, but this statement from a non-sponsor website got my curiosity going and was wondering if anybody was familiar with these products:
QUOTE Many sanctioning bodies are starting to require the use of Head and Neck Restraints. Be sure the one that you choose is SFI-certified. I/O Port now stocks the Head and Neck restraints from Safety Solutions and LFT Technologies. The Hutchens II and the R3 device are both SFI-certified. They both have some advantages over the popular HANS device (which we also can sell you). One advantage is that these devices do not require the safety harnesses to function properly as does the HANS device. This can make the Hutchens II and the R3 devices better in multiple impacts compared to the HANS device.

Your belts should be mounted correctly "to function properly" in the first place. Now, the multiple impact thing does sound good, but in my eyes, you are most concerned with the initial impact as hopefully the rest are less severe by A LOT. |
