I took a 1st place finish at the Seekonk Speedway Spectator Drags this weekend (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . I've been a huge fan of this local event for the past 10 years. Finally decided to enter my Camaro in it 3 years ago. I shocked myself and didn't think I'd win this quickly. Ended up taking home a huge 5 foot tall trophy and I got a check in the mail today for 100 bucks. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
Thanks to you guys for a lot of good suspension setup advice, especially Sam. Koni singles, stock springs, 35mm front and 21mm rear swaybar, solid rod end panhard bar, goes a long way for making the car feel controllable on the oval track. Without all your help, I wouldn't of had a good goal for a setup (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Here's some clips that one of the drivers took: http://www.newenglandtunerz.com/NETz/PhotosVideos.htm specifically the spectator drag clips. Lots of contact and a damage at this event unfortunately. I haven't had any contact yet and don't believe I'd ever be crazy enough to drive hard enough to hit the wall. I also haven't fixed my engine tap noise yet (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) , but I didn't feel like watching. Now that I won, I feel like I'm in a good comfort zone and will get my block replaced first before I go back. Winning this event was actually my biggest lifetime goal, and I fulfilled it. Next goal... buy a house (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I'm not done either! I'll be back to hopefully win some more (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif) |

Nice job Bryan! For those that don't know, running in these events takes some skill and some courage. The speedway--I think it's a 1/4 mile--is ringed by big concrete walls... I wouldn't want to try it.

I encourage anyone to come and watch. The next event I'm going to run in is labor day weekend, on September 3rd. There's also figure 8s, and demolition derby later on, and various other events, plus fireworks.

That looks like a blast! Congratulations.
I didn't understand how anyone could crash or rub at a drag race until I realized it's a drag race on an oval. Doesn't whomever has the lower, inside position have a large advantage? Jason |

Good job! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) That was fun to watch. How about the Volvo wagon doing a burnout, the Firebird divebombing under the other guy, and the Tiburon hitting the wall!

That green camaro got kicked out for doing that. That was just rediculous and unsafe. There are rules about intentional contact like that. Hopefully he isn't allowed back.
