Kind of cool and would be fun to drive probably, but wow.....that certainly isn't a weekend project. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Fixed that for ya. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It probably won't be *that* expensive considering it looks like he's doing everything himself.

As far as "Why?" It could be far worse. He could be building a ricermobile with lambo doors, a 5-figure paint job and an even more expensive sound system so he can r3pr3s3nt while rolling through the McDonalds drive through.

Kinda like the V8 RWD Focii and those Vorshlag boys, the real question is, "Why not?"

I too somehow doubt it costs as much as building a wheel to wheel race car, maintaining it, the enclosed trailer, and the tow vehicle. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

What I'd like to see is if this car drives straight down the road when he's done.

Oh......NO DOUBT there.... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

I guess it comes down to choices......I could have a cool race car, enclosed trailer, and run the thing for years....

....or....

a LS1 Prelude....which will be like flushing dollars down the drain when he tires of it..... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif)

I guess asking why someone would do that is like asking why someone would beat on a perfectly good car at the track. Just seems fun I suppose.

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand the concept of big motor in a small car, wether it be for racing or just having fun. Hell, I'm a Dodge fan, the guys that put a hemi into a dart! I would LOVE to get my hands on an LS1 powered e36, that makes a lot of sense: excellent power, v8 sound, excellent suspension...where do I sign? But an LS1 PRELUDE?? To coin a phrase used by the Auto Extremist...that is the answer to the question nobody is asking. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think it's cool that someone is doing this and seems to have some skills at the conversion at least. Maybe the guy just really liked Preludes. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif)

If someone put an LS1 into a Chevette, some of us at least would think that is cool. I'm sure the Honda forum would think it's dumb and a waste of time.

Honestly, I think it's pretty cool . . . as long as it ain't MY money being spent. If this car ends up becoming the MUST HAVE car for racing - I'll buy the kit. If not, then I'll wait until someone else does another car. But, all-in-all, more power to him for doing something I wouldn't even attempt in my dreams.

i find it's neat... and a hell-of a project.
Wish him good luck and should be fun to tdrive for sure.
once that is completed, he can get into power mods and get serious about going faster.

You have to give it to the guy. Great taste as far as engine choice. IRS was a nice touch too.
