Looking at swapping some body parts from an LS1 Trans-Am tub that is good from the front to the back to my '94 Trans-Am LT1 CMC car. My question is, is the rear bumper the same and the quarter panels? I know the tail lights will swap as that was popular to do when the LS1s started showing up in boneyards.

Everything in front of the doors is different between the LT1 and LS1 versions as far as the skin goes. Underneath, they are virtually the same. There are some subtle differences in bracketry that the body panels hang on. Also, the marker lenses are different.
Also, the inner fender liners are different as are the lower nose pieces. The doors and back are basically the same. And beginning in '96 (IIRC), ALL Trans AMs were T-Top cars. |

Sweet, thanks guys - how about the gas tank? I assume the fuel pump is probably different.

Yes significantly different.
The regulator is in the tank on a 98 up and feeds a lot more pressure than the 93-97. The 98+ tank is supposed to be a few lbs lighter, though. I have one if you would like a picture of the sender/pump insert. |

The '98 tank is steel. The 99+ are plastic and are said to be 15lbs lighter (empty).
The 99+ holds another gallon of gas, so you can choose whether to make use of that extra gallon or not... (weight vs. range) |

Wow! Great info guys! This LS1 car tub is a '98. Mitch, please post the photo. Would it be possible to transplant the '94's fuel pump in there?
