looks to me like Lou is tryin to make the kid realize hes still a very big rookie and doesn't listen. and 2nd is still losing to Lou, can't have that

damn it was entertaining watchin them try to drift. did one of the year one cars go backwards on the course just to screw around?

makes me wounder that i'd probably look like that trying to drift as well... lol
I think LG driver needs to get some humility back and become a sponge for advice... maybe the whole camera thing is going to his head... who knows.

I don't know if it's just the camera...

The kid's website sounds like he's going to run for office some day, not try to drive a race car: http://www.jacemeier.com/

I think those were LG hood, fender skirts, and splitter.

Wow, talk about miising the blatantly obvious ....... I guess that makes a lot more sense now

"What's it matter if the kid can't use them? For being some stock car driver, this kid doesn't look like he has crap for experience. Seriously, who here couldn't light the tires on a 350rwhp 'vette? Those LG-style donuts used to cost me a lot of dough in tires even with a 200rwhp Trans Am right after high school."

I don't know about you but IMPO I would upgrade the shocks, brakes and tires 1st with a rookie

As for my comment about him making amends, my point might not have come across as I intended, it was more to the fact that he won ~ barely but he did win. And he did pass the 350Z back after that guy made a straight away out of that one area.
......I do, however, think that 350Z (now with turbo) is going to put a "whip'en" on LG's guy on the road course ~ unless he was holding back to make the show more interesting

Nah, good equipment (mainly the tires) can mask a lot of bad habits. I can't believe that the kid is driving hard enough that the stock 'vette equipment can't keep up. I know the car isn't god-like, but if a car with 100 less rwhp can keep up, you aren't driving fast enough to need those parts. The loose nut behind the wheel needs more work.

Is the C6 a Z51?
I know Lou is selling parts here but it's a shame there isn't another driver hanging up on that LG mods peg board display.

If we were talking about someone learning for the purpose of racing, I could see your point. But keep in mind that we're talking about a TV show (and no real learning curve) ~ one set of 1/4 mile runs, one set of drift runs, 2 sets of road course runs and I think 2 sets of AX runs.....that's it, you win or lose and you're done. What does masking bad habits matter in this case, he'll probably never drive a Vette again.

It appears to me that he doesn't need anymore HP ~ so why not add some things that might help his confidence with the car (ie brake fade, body roll, grip).

Let me put it this way, if you had a chance to be on TV to win $15,000 (or whatever the amount) if you came in 1st place, would you
1) want a stock car and possibly learn the limits of the car
or
2) get that same car modified and possibly test your limits
.......I know where I'd put my money.

That kid is blowing an opportunity of a lifetime.

I've been on the receiving end of an LG discussion.

The difference is I never thought I was Micheal Schumacher's love child

I gotta agree.

Lou seems to be a little hard on the guy....but as a 17 year old kid, you should be trying to soak up as much as you can.....his attitude S.U.C.K.S. And then, in steps the "enabler" dad...."My son has always been supremely confident...." If I was there and the kids father, instead of making excuses for the kid, I would take him behind the shop and give him a lesson in life.... IF the drifter gets another 50hp out of that turbo AND the girl gets a couple gallons of ass, Napoleon Dynamite will get is ass handed to him on the road course.

JMHO ...

His mad skilz just don't impress me much.

Listening to Louis' calm voice cracks me up. I recall that same radio voice when an unnamed driver was being checked out in Lou's Trans AM car. While not transmitting, Louis voice became significantly more "concerned" when chatting with his dad and crew.

No kidding... this is a great time for the kid to learn, but instead he has acted like he knew it all already and the Dad isn't helping the situation.

I think the kid gets it handed to him on the road course next time.

Granted that I am probably the youngest person on this forum, I would have to say that kid has a pretty crappy attitude towards learning especially from someone with that much experience. However Lou seemed a little overly mean but I guess it's all good now.

I thought Ken Gushi was taking the oval course in style with the drifting... and I was pretty shocked to see that the girl had an identical twin that also participates in motorsports stuff (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Just watched the final episode of this.....looks like the big, fat, LGM aluminum radiator killed the kid's chance at $100,000. Too bad, because that car was a nice ride! I wonder how much acutal choice they had on what to install on the cars come upgrade time.....

Lou was saying they had all this power now,and no tires to put it down with, and it showed on the drag race. I wonder if each team just brought a bunch of their own parts, most of what I saw LGM taking off the rack had big LGM stencils on it, and they just bolted it on as they gained points, and not much actual strategy went on. Or maybe the show made the Corvette stick to "stock" tires to try and slow it down and equalize the cars....(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif)

What I found ironic is that Lou (and everyone else for that matter) lost to the only girl on the show.....and she drove a Ford (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

What happened to the Corvette on the road course? I saw it was slow, but never caught why it had no power.
