$1.99 Camera Mount

Remove guard and flip the washer/wingnut. Simple and cheap.

Cool idea. Do you have a list of the parts? I can see most. Thanks.

Sorry, no parts list.

Cruise the fastener isle at your local hardware store. I'm going by memory, so double check.

Camera mounts are all 1/4-20 thread.

U-Bolt is the regular duty 1 3/4" (or 2"?) diameter (Heavy duty is 3/8 thread). The guard is just a left over vacuum line plug I had lying around. I used ny-lok nuts and cranked them down on top of extra washers.

I sprayed the U-bolt and washer with Plasti-Cote prior to assembly. Try to keep the threaded section as short as possible, otherwise the camera will pick up too much vibration.

This mount works great for placing the camera on the top of my roll bar (I have a convertible) and for video taping cars following behind me. Mounted to the harness bar, the camera sits a little bit low. I may try fitting an aluminum spacer under the camera next time.

Thanks, I had a tripod rigged in the backseat with the seatbelts and duct tape, but I took all the belks and seat out now.

I've got an I/O Port Racing one that I don't need anymore:

http://www.ioportracing.com/Merchant2/merc...ategory_Code=CM

It cost $100 new, but I don't have the safety strap that comes with it (sold separately now for $4.95). $70+shipping if you want it. I can take some pictures of mine if you are seriously interested.

30% off seems a little steep for a used item missing a part. I'll go $50 shipped on it.

I appreciate the offer, but that's too low for me.
