18 inch rims Bad idea?

I went w/ her to order her some rims for her 98. I read on here that 17's are a really good choice, however, she wanted chrome "twisted 5 star" rims. The place we went to didn't have any that would fit. So she picked out a set and they are 18 X 8 Or 9 I cant remember. The tire size is P245/40/r18s (Z rated). I know most (or all) are against these rims but I just want to know how bad this will hurt street performance?

Since the overall diameter will be the same as stock will I need to upgrade the brakes (or brake pads)?

I am thinking of maybe pushing them out 1/4 of an inch. Would this be too much?

I need SLP ram air kit measurements

I am going to fab my own box from aluminum. I can get it welded and everything. Hell I can even sell these. What are the measurements for the box? can someone get me some pics w/ a ruler beside the box? If there is a way to make the box better let me know I will see what I can come up with.

Im the new guy w/ a stock 98 camaro.... need help!

I got a v-6 auto ( I know its not all that fast.) I want to make it a little quicker. I am not looking for 9's or anything but 14's or 13's would be nice. I love to road race too. In fact I road race my s-10. I have a glass pack on it and a k&n drop in filter. I also did the air box mod. What else?! :drive:
