Howdy,

Hey, where's a good place to buy Chevy parts? Paying retail at the dealer just pisses me off, plus I have to go get it.

Related, are there any PC parts catalogs available for chevy stuff? I've got a parts catalog for my MR2 that makes finding the proper part & part # a breeze, and I'd like something similar for my chevy stuff.

Thanks!

Mark

Call Team Chevrolet (search for Team Chevrolet and posts by trackbird here on the board), they'll take care of you. Tell them you're an internet order and the prices are pretty good (and they had free shipping on orders of $100 or more, unlike gmpartsdirect).

Howdy,

Thanks Kevin! Similar price to GMPartsDirect, since I wasn't over $100 for what I needed this time (RF power window switch for a Venture), but sounded like a good guy to talk to. Dealer retail was $62, plus attitude, Team Chevrolet was $40 plus shipping. GMPartsDirect was $48, shipped.

That savings grows considerably on big stuff.

Glad to help!

I have the 4th gen Camaro parts manual in pdf, I can email it to anyone who wants it. Email me at smrtprts@pacbell.net
Edit: The file is 121 mb, anyone have a way to send it?

Found the parts manual online here: http://www.lastofthebreed.com/ServiceInfor...amaro/index.htm

Don't say I never gave you nuthin

Mark - call Ryan Rhodes. He works at the parts counter at a local Chevy dealer. Recently I bought new front calipers, new front hubs and a couple of other pieces for my car. He was able to give me the lowest prices I have ever seen.

If you need his number, let me know (actually, I'll get it off my dad).

I've also began ordering through Gale @ Team Chevy. Maybe I shouldn't be finding a way to spend an extra $70 to get free ground shipping though rolleyes.gif

Would you know where I could get the same for a 3rd gen., since this only covers 4th gen cars?

I need to add a comment about Team Chevy. Their shipping department has missed in-stock items 2 out of the last 3 shipments. They weren't expensive, but the unnecessary delays are irritating.

My local Chevy dealer has been very competitive on pricing, once you figure in shipping.

Usually within 15% of Dal or Team Chevy.

Edit:

Disregard this comment s it's obviously not true in all cases.

I've been using Team for years - Gale is pretty good about keeping up on emails and looking up part numbers.

But... their shipping dept sucks - don't ever order gaskets and something heavy in the same order - you'll get a gasket puree.

I have sort of a ditto....

I ordered all my C5 brake parts from Gale, and the price and service was great. When the box arrived, it was damaged (I have come to expect this anymore) but the TEAM shipping folks threw all the small parts in the bottom of the box and some of them "escaped". I had to call Gale back and get new ones (which he sent no charge by the way) but it was a hassle.

It would be nice if they would put all the small stuff in a small box inside the big box. I can see why Alan would have problem with gaskets based on my experience.
