I just checked online and I'm officially an AWS Certified Welding Inspector. The test was not easy but it was definitely worth it.

However I can never look at any of my previous welds now.

congrats...

i wouldn't be so tough on yourself... wait till you get out there and see welding in the real world..

Oh I've seen worse, but working at a power plant we tend to get the better welders on ASME code jobs. On the other hand I've seen some downright scary welds on scrubber ductwork.

Yeah. Most ductwork welders couldn't stick two syrupy biscuits together.
