o.k. - as many of you know quite a few of us FRRAX members here are going to be trekking across the country to participate in the 2nd Annual NASA Nationals @ Mid Ohio.
i would like each of us who are heading to Mid Ohio to submit the planned route and if any of our members here who live along that route are willing to be available for any amount of roadside assistance, post or email your contact info and location to that person or persons who you think it would benefit the most. this could be as simple as being available via phone to answer questions regarding the local area to providing a place to crash while a tow rig or trailer repairs are being made. the level of support is up to you and any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think we will be driving the Dallas to Nashville to Columbus route again this year. if you can help myself and or Mitch while we do this if the need arises, PM me or email me @ Glenn_Landrum (at) msn (dot) com . we will be leaving on Sept 10th.

You guys know where to find me in Columbus, or just call. PM if anyone needs my number. I'm on the west side of town and have tools and a garage. By the time you get to me, you're almost there, but if you get stuck close by, we'll figure something out.

also, don't assume i have anyones info. i usually purge my emails and PM's, so it could easily get lost or deleted.

I'm about 20 minutes off I80 or I55 in the SW Chicago suburbs. I can't offer a bed, but I've got a garage/MIG/tools if anyone needs help.

PM for a #.

Too bad no-one is out in Utah! Bro-in-law just ran into the first snag of the trip, a bad storm around the Salt Lake area. He is looking for place to crash, the first motel did not have power because of the storm! He is putting at 40mph this pm.
mitchntx
Look at the bright side ... 40mph will get him there before the finals on Sunday.

Bro-in-law made it to North Platte, NE today clipping along at a whopping 60 mph once he got out of the rain. smile.gif

I live less than 5 minutes from both I-64 and I-75, just a few miles west of Lexington, about an hour east of Louisville, and about 1.5 hours south of Cinci. I have MIG.

RaceCarSupply.com (formerly Schings Racing) is just down the road. They specialize in Formula Vee, but do a lot of road race-related work on "real" cars, and have a chassis dyno, lift, and tire servicing equipment. They carry AN fittings, various racing fluids (ATE, Redline, etc), safety equipment (including hans), and other racing-related stuff (but no stock replacement parts). The website is only useful for getting the phone number wink.gif

Jenny Schings drives an AI Mustang (or did before the kid, dunno now), so like I said they do more than Vees.

In the general area of the northwestern split of I-75/I-64, there's also a Republic Diesel (for driveshaft work), a slew of autoparts stores, a Chevy dealer, and of course a Cracker Barrel smile.gif

Jules,

If you get to town and your ride has issues getting you picked up at the airport, call me and I'll come get you.

I’m in Royal Oak, MI, basically the corner of I75 and I696 in Metro Detroit. I have a small shop but lots of tools. I’d be glad to help any FRRAX members out. I’ll probably be at Mid OH for the weekend. I can offer the basement and a blow up mattress for sleeping.

Canadians traveling through Sarnia or Windsor will miss me by about 15-20 minutes.

PM for a #
