I am listening to the live audio and watching the mylaps real time updates but it just ain't cuttin' it. I searched mylaps and the only real results that I can find are from Thursday.

Could someone who know PLEASE post the tomorrow's starting lineup for CMC and AI? I can't find it on the Internet and since I can't be there, I am losing my $#$%ing mind.

The finishing order for this afternoon's qualifying race is here: http://drivenasa.com/liveresults/liveresult.php?run=752

I don't know what the starting order will be tomorrow. All I remmember is that in cmc Glenn was first, Jeff was second and Nick was third although I think he was dq for the day sad.gif. I wasn't able to be there today but it seems that they revesed the field. I think the finishing order today was Nick first, Jeff second and Glenn third. That is from what I could tell.

God willing I'm going to be there tomorrow. Not to rub it in but there is a big frrax turnout!!!

No DQ for me on the loss of the hood. The car came in 5lbs over its weight min so I was fine. Finishing order for today's qualifying race was:

Powell
Steel
Burch
Glenn

Jeff, Glenn and I all have an avg finishing position of 2.5 so I'm not sure what the next tie breaker is, possibly fast race lap. If thats the case I *think* that puts the starting order at Glenn, Jeff and Nick.

And on that note, I need to pass out.

Thanks for the updates, keep them coming.

Good luck guys, do your best and everyone be safe. I look forward to reading some good race reports!!!

cars and such...

Thanks for the info.

According to the audio during Sat's race, Powell's Friday finish was disallowed. No explanation was given. That could shake things up at the front.

Sounds like some clean, close racing out there. Have fun and good luck to everyone.

It's intersting to watch NASA National in action. For the most part, it's ran flawlessly, without too much drama.

Cody (supermac on this board) was a true victim.

In a previous regional race, he had had some contact with another driver which FUBARed his alignment. At his alignment shop, they also "helped" him by adjusting his front ride height using the coil-over collars. Not 100% sure why, but that's the story.

At impound, ride height was measured and Cody's was OK. BUT, the rules state the bottom spring seats have to be within 1/8" of each other's position on the collar. He was just out of that tolerence.

It was a really tough break for team RM as they have been fast all week long. It was a good break for the rest of the field.

Cody is feaking hauling the mail coming into T2 and T4.

Clean, solid racing all weekend long.

I have video.....it is pretty useless.....you get 1 second of cars going by on a straight at start/finish....that and it looks like somebody bought the camera as a second hand job at a flea market....

Jeff Burch wins and Glenn on the podium in 3rd!

Yeah, bad video and very bad focus. Hard to see those cars pass.

I believe the top 4 are all frraxers. Nice job, guys.

Bob Denton (Den34) finished in 8th in today's CMC Championship race on a 150k mile 3.27 geared 9-bolt after the pinion gear in his good 10-bolt lost some teeth in Qualifying on Saturday. Hopefully, it'll hold up next year and he can put up a fight in the top 5 like he was doing before his trouble. Good job, Bob!

Sidney Franklin (Sidney) finished 11th in the American Iron Championship race after having a brake line rupture going into the carousel in Saturday's qualifying race, which put him into the tire barrier with heavy front damage. After an 8 hour thrash last night, we only had to hook up brake ducts and bleed brakes this morning. He ran laps today within .8 sec of his fastest laps all weekend even though he lost his front downforce in the wreck. Good job, Sidney!

Bryan White (roadracerwhite) finished 13th in the American Iron Championship race with soft brakes after fighting brake gremlins all weekend. A respectable finish after a week of clean driving that let him bring the car home without so much as a tire mark on it. Good job, Bryan!

Hopefully, next year I'll be driving and we'll be doing a lot more ass kicking and a lot less fixing! biggrin.gif

Great job everybody! Anybody know how are 2 California lady's and Nick did?

Maybe next year I'll make it there!

Nick finished 4th, Jules 13th in CMC. Christine retired after 11 laps in AI. Brad trophied 3rd in CMC2.

The CMC race was real clean, with only a brief local yellow, as I recall. Start was delayed by the prior session SM crashfest

I'm a bit surprised at the light CMC2 entries - after a full season I expected to see more LS1 cars out there.

Top 5 spots in CMC are GM - are we going to see some rewards weight for 08?

I missed you this year, and Bob and Bryan. I thought I met everyone who was there. Sorry guys, I guess I'll try to meet up with you next year.

Nice job Sydney and company on getting that car back together. It looked good out there and that was impressive after such a serious hit. Nice work!!!

Christine had a PHB mount (the passengers side) break off and she spun. As she spun, she was hit in the left rear by an AIX Mustang (2007). Both cars had signifigant damage and Christine was uninjured in the accident. That was a bummer, she was working through the field and really kicking some butt out there. I would have loved to see where she would have finished if the car hadn't broken, she was on a tear.

The Fbodys did great this year!

I'm glad Christine is alright, that is the 2nd time her PHB bracket weld has broke this year!

Ya - that weld is a critical one. Her PHB was somebody elses work, I went over the car last winter but did not note anything amiss back there. The best way to inspect a weld is as it's burning in.

08 is going to be even better for Fbods ;-)

Ah thats what happened. Yea she was moving for sure. Did she have a tire rub (from a PHB mount starting to go?) or was that oil coming out or something?

Glad to hear she's ok.
trackbird
She said it started to rub as it was flexing and starting to break. They were just about to meatball her and bring her in when it gave enough to lock the tire against the chassis and spin the car. She said it was repaired before. I was under the car with it on the ground and on the trailer (but took no pics) and the front side of the bracket is sheared clear off, the rear side is split 1/2 way (or more) across the facing and it's kinked backwards at a 20-30 degree angle. It really decided it was time to check out when it went. And, as I said, she was having a great drive and really kicking butt out there. We were all up in the keyhole pulling for her as she was passing people coming out of the keyhole. She was moving!

SHHHHhhhh!!!!! ;-)

Seriously though, after driving a fox body in an enduro earlier this year, I think they can be as fast, even without the extra weight the GM cars are carrying. Somehow it is always a case of car AND driver classing.

Congrats to all the FRRAX guys and gals on their results at nationals.

StanIROCZ
So if they are going to penalize the F-bods in CMC, they need to do the opposite in AI and AIX.

Edit to add: 1st and 2nd in CMC2 were Musturds.
KeithO
I'd be surprised if they actually penalized us. One race isn't justification enough.
supermac
I think the Mustang guys need to show up with cars prepped to the level of Glenn and Jeff before they start griping too much. Adam Ginsberg (who is a great guy by the way) had the most fully prepped Mustang that I saw, with a way better torque curve than I have and I would say he could do more. All you had to do was watch Jeff and especially Glenn and Mitch and you could see how much they put into winning this thing and it showed. Besides a Mustang won last year and wasn't it just a few short years ago that nobody wanted to run a 4th gen cause they where big fat heavy pigs, now we are somehow getting an unfair advantage? Give me a break.

Cody
GlennCMC70
<two snaps in the air> You go girl!
Unbalanced Engineering
Well put Cody. I really think that a Mustang could be faster with the weight break they get. I ran within 1 second of the lap record at Willow Springs in the heat of August in one that I don't consider to be fully prepped. Considering how fast Tony G. is in his (again not fully prepped), I really think they have one over on us......

Nationals was AWESOME! So glad I could meet everyone I did, sorry I missed a bunch of you!

How cool that you guys were watching and rooting for us all, thank you!

As for the owwies on the car--I lost the rear and got really squirrely in the Carousel early on in Sunday's race, and I lost a few positions. I wonder if either that was what caused the PHR stuff to go, or if the poor handling was due to it already going. Regardless, I can't believe I could go as long as I could, and pass people cleanly too, with a failing suspension! I was having such a great time. I wonder how it would have gone if the car was whole? Will be good to get the car back and evaluate the whole deal.

Thanks again to you all, everyone who helped out, or just said hello--really made a good event even better.

Christine ...

I'm really sorry I didn't MAKE the time to look you up and introduce myself.

But, suffice it to say, there was a group of us on the hill at T5 that was screaming our heads off as you knifed through the field.

The car looked and sounded awesome. KUDOs to you and your crew.

Hey MitchTX,

Were you holler'n for me when I started 24th and "knifed" my way up to 11th? Just how many Mustangs did I pass!
