I'd like to take a minute to welcome Hellwig Products to frrax as a new supporting vendor. They are working on some really neat suspension products for our cars and they have a new adjustable rear sway bar package that might be exactly what many of us are looking for. I'm sure you'll see a post from David from Hellwig in the very near future with more information.

Yup. I'll let you know how it fits when I get mine installed. 2thumbs.gif

They have two sizes, a 7/8" and a 1", but the smaller one is effectively a 21-23mm bar (per my discussions with David) and I don't have the full specs on the larger one yet. I'll be installing a 7/8" one shortly on my 3rd gen project and will have photos and more info when that happens.

I have had Hellwig F/R bars on my 98 Sonoma forever! They fit perfect, and have worked great to date. I even went and picked them up at the factory. Nice people!

Excellent! Question for david - What are the stiffness numbers for those swaybars and if you've got them for the stock swaybars, that'd be very helpful as well! Also - Do you guys have a fixture for measuring the stiffness, and what's the best way to do that? I was going to clamp swaybar mounts onto my welding table, block one end up, and hang weights off the other, using a tape to measure it against the floor. If there's a better way, I'm all ears!

I'll run it by David. I know that most of us are using a 21mm or larger rear bar, but there are some cars with 19's on them (mine right now, but that's going to change with stickier rubber).

All we would need is the ID, OD, and arm length of the rear bars to determine how they compare to what we already have. If the 7/8" rear bar roughly a 21-23mm bar then it must be hollow or longer then stock (which I doubt because it's tight under the car), but possible.

Let us know!

I sent this link to David, so I'm hoping he'll stop by shortly.

I can provide SAE roll stiffness calcs on the bars. It has been my experience that these calcs are good for comparison of bars but that seat time really tells what works. I started another thread looking for volunteers to test these products.

Hellwig Adjustable Rear Sway Bars

The 7/8" (22mm) bar is a little shorter than stock. The 21-23mm adjustment applies to this sway bar and not comparison to a stock sway bar. By moving the end link to different attachment holes makes the bar act like a smaller or larger bar.

Howdy,

Dave, I see on your website you show a picture of a motorhome & some rear leaf springs... :-)

It doesn't have much to do with f-bodys (other than I'll need to tow one), but do you make rear springs for an '84 P30 chassis (16" wheels) motorhome? My existing ones are original and I think they've sagged a bit, plus I'd like to up the rate some to help with the increased load I'm going to have on the rear end when towing (and yes, there will be rear frame reinforcements done as well... )

That something you folks do?

We do have a kit for the P30 - its p/n 3501. You will need an install kit as well and there are 2 part numbers depending on the diameter of your U-bolt. 35580 fits 5/8" U-bolts and 35340 fits 3/4" U-bolts.
