OK, I've decided to run in ESP for the time.

I'm on a fairly tight budget (wife and new house won't let me go hog wild). So I need to get things as money permits, so basically I need the best performance/dollar mods.

Also, I probably won't run real competitively this year, so I'm looking at building up for next year.

How does this order of things look?
Shocks (Koni SA up front, Third gen Bilsteins in the back)
1LE rear swaybar
springs (any suggestions?)
5 point harness (need suggestions on this too)
Tires for next season (will start out using my 16x8 camaro wheels)
APHB
Anything else?

I figure for this season I would race on my street tires, try to attend an evolution school, and just get some seat time. Not being too worried about being the fastest, and just try to improve.

I'd consider a 35mm front sway bar. Call Sam Strano (www.stranoparts.com), he can get them for you (as can many others). The standard setup is typically 500/150 in lb springs (F/R) and ground control weight jacks (Sam as well). The shock choices should work (as Sam about revalving the rears). BUt it sounds like you are on the right track.

The rear sway bar is a "to taste" change. Some run stock, some the 1le, etc. While you have Sam on the phone, ask him.

check sig...got a 35mm ST front bar

what are ground control weight jacks?
94bird
Give Sam a call and ask about the Ground Control weight jacks. Basically in the front they're like a coilover adjustable perch height shock, and in the rear they're just for ride height change.

Easy really.

You already have the bar.

#1 shocks
#2 17X11's W/315's
#3 Wheel studs and spacers for the tires/wheels
#4 Rod end PHR for the wheels tires.
#5 T2R (NO OTHER DIFF WILL DO)
#6 Springs to help control camber you have, and to gain some, by lowering.

Ah but Lonnie, he has a Firebird. No spacers needed and he can run 36mm offset wheels. Hehe.

I guess I need to go read that thread.

But since I said it, I gotta justify it some how. And the ARP stuff is stronger than stock.

AND IF YOU AUTOX MORE THAN A COUPLE TIMES, THE NUMBER ONE THING YOU NEED IS CAR NUMBERS AND CLASS DESIGNATERS THAT ARE BIG AND CONTRAST W/THE CAR.

This is a BIG issue for me. And I don't work timing/scoring. I HATE NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE NUMBER AND CLASS.

This is IMO a really big issue in some regions and a real PITA.

Here's what order I did (not necessarily best order, but what I could afford at the time I got the stuff)

1) 32F/21R swaybars & APHR
2) 17x11's w/ Victoracers
3) harness
4) front Koni SA's, Eibachs, and Ground Control
5) rear Bilstein 3rd gens

Still to get
6) 35mm hollow front bar
7) T2R
