Hi,

I have 2 gauges that I'm installing since the car is all apart and access to anywhere in the engine is easy.
Where would you plug the sensor for:
1. oil gauge
2. water gauge

Thanks,
mitchntx
oil pressure and water temperature? And on an LSx based motor?

Oil pressure ... there is a port right above the oil filter.
Water temperature ... drill and tap the flat spot on top of the water pump.

FWIW, some aftermarket oil cooler adapters (eg. Lingenfelter) have a port available for a pressure sensor. This is a convenient option if an oil cooler is in your plans. For a water temp location, the easiest option is a port on the rear of of the pass. side cylinder head. This is the mirror image of the factory sender site on the front of the driver side head. FYI, most aftermarket senders will require an oddball adapter.

That's probably one of the more detailed write-ups on the 'net I've seen.
