Now that I have a chasecam and im recording video, I need to edit it so it will fit on Photobucket ect. Whats an EASY program to do this?

I like Pinnacle Studio 12.
Sony has a Studio product as well I've heard good things about.
Also heard good things from Adobe Premier.
All about the same price.
I recently upgraded from Studio 10 due to avchd format from new camera.
Fry's $60.

Do you need larger than normal processing power or video card or _______ (I don't know that much about computers) to edit videos? I have just a basic Dell Inspiron E1505 with no upgrades that is 2 years old.

Movie Maker that is part of XP is about as easy as it gets for simple cuts editing. But it's limited on what it can do.

Premeire, Pinnacle, etc. are far more feature rich.


Stan ... lots of RAM and a really good video card make things go faster and smoother as does a Core Duo processor, as long as the software package can take advantage of it.

But the single biggest upgrade you will need is hard disk space. Beyonf my system drive , I have a 500G and a 1T drive to store and edit. I also have a utility that defrags and runs a checkdisk on the drives regularly. The file you will be dealing with are huge and can jack up an HD pretty easy.


For the lowest common denominator, so to speak, on formats is Windows Media (.wmv). File size is acceptable and will be more widely recognized

John, here's a plug for a product that we just released. It's a free online video capture and editing program that you can use to capture the video from your computer, edit, then host online. It's called GoView. Maybe it'll work for you, maybe it won't, but I thought I'd pass it along.

That's kind of slick.

The tour isn't very "meaty" in that it doesn't tell me what formats it needs so that it captures. And it almost sounds as if it's doing a screen dump from a flash player.

But for simple recording, editing and hosting, this sounds cutting edge for the masses.

On a related note, everything I've tried for converting various movie formats to an iPhone/iPod-compatible mp4 has introduced a significant time lag between the audio and video, even when reviewed on a PC (so it isn't an issue with the phone). This gets really weird for things like learning a new song on guitar. Is there anything that just "works" without becoming a major production? I haven't taken the goview tour yet.

I'm beyond stupid because i can't make any of these work!

Jason I tried yours and i think my broadband is to slow. It had alot of stop and goes in the feed. I tried Movie Maker and Nero with no luck.

If anybody has a step by step way of doing this, it would be a hugh help!

I'm going back to my shop to rebuild 2 t56's and put half of the car back together.

I've run the complete ChaseCam setup for a couple of years now, and the sze if the video files is 'uge.

Windows Movie Maker is were I started several years ago. It is quite easy to get out basic videos playable in Windows.

I bought the Adobe software because it was packaged with something else I wanted. It has been a fairly easy learn, too. Gives you more options on how you can share it.

Compaired to the raw footage of this same video, you'll always lose some just because of the sheer size of video files.
