This might be obvious, but I figured I would ask just to get some angles. smile.gif

How often should the rear diff oil be changed? Stock 10 bolt, I've been autox'ing half the season, and plan to continue next year.

I've got 6 months now haven't touched the rear oil. I've changed the tranny fluid once and the engine oil countless times.

Thanks all....

When I had my daily driver/autocross car, I changed the diff oil about every 20k miles and the transmission fluid was done at the same time. That's far more often than the maintenance schedule suggests and seemed like cheap insurance to me.

I guess I'll just wait till next year then, I doubt I have over 15k on the current rear oil. Thanks

Just asking cuz it was an extremely hot summer and the last course we ran for the past 3 months was really fast. I found my self topping 3rd in a few places. Now I know SCCA rules should keep you under 70, but it was fun nonethless smile.gif

I do mine at least once a year regardless of miles. Sometimes twice a year. I usually put about 100 autocross runs on it a year and about 2000 miles max. It might be over kill, but I'm one of the last guys with a living T2R.

I do mine every couple years, but I use Redline 75w-90 NS. Eric, I must have the other surviving T2R although I think it's getting a bit weak. Either that or it's the tires.
