I have a Dana 44 from a '96 Corvette Grand Sport. I'm rebuilding the whole thing before it is installed. Are stock clutches in the LSD good enough? If not, what clutches do you guys recommend and where should I find them. This is going in a car with ~500ftlbs and is used for Auto-x and HPDE.

I've seen stock clutch packs on ebay for reasonable prices, or any decent rear end/gear supplier should be able to get them. I've love to know if there are different packs available. Some guys on Corvette Forum have been talking about the Truetrac, which apparently is a fairly new diff for the C4 D44 center section.

I guess the big question I have right now is wether or not a stock rebuilt posi is tight enough for my use. I haven't found that answer for sure yet.
