I want to put more camber in my camaro 95 for CMC racing. Does anyone know of an article or instructions on how to do this.
thanks Leebo

The only rules-compliant way that I know of is to install the Strano upper control arm offset bushings. I did this on my old CMC car and it was legal then. I don't know if it is still permited...

Slot the lower A-Arm mounts and the upper A-Arm mounts.

Just opening up the lowers will get you about -2* camber

Exactly, legal in CMC, and AI, not legal in ESP or SM wink.gif Get a carbide about 1/2" in diameter, an air grinder and to to town smile.gif

What about the offset bushing. Do I not need it if I slot the uppers and lowers?
thanks Lee

I don't think most guys are running them, at least not on the west coast. Texas guys?

Never had the need.

Slotting has been good enough.

slotting the lowers willget you about 95% there. thats good for most folks. slot the camber slots to w/in 3/16" from the edge.

FWIW, the Strano Bushings gave me -2.5 Camber and kept me ESP legal. I think the Caster is 4.5 right now was well.
GlennCMC70
forgot to add, you will also need to do the caster slots too.
i've done both and i have custom offset upper a arm bushings and i can get like 3.5 camber and 8 caster. i couldnt ever get enough caster before the upper offset bushings (4.5) and now i have too much.

2 advantages of grinding the LCA slots: wider track, and free.

I'll add that when you run the bushings you get rid of rubber in favor of delrin. So not only do you gain camber, you replace rubber (soft) bushings too.

Sure grinding will get you camber, but bushings kill two birds with one stone.
