Strongly looking into CCW or Kodiak wheels for this winter.

my new set I just bought 2 weeks ago........$169/ea. for the 9.5 fronts......$210/ea. for the rears.....prices INCLUDED shipping, so take $15 or so off of each wheel

kinda got ripped....NEEDED them, and all the ebay auctions I had been tracking at $480-$590 set suddenly dried up.....when I called ALL OF THE SUPPLIERS....seemed to be because NO one had 11 inch rims......I found em, but they are RARE now in silver....

At the moment I really think I'm going to go with Kodiak.

They look GREAT. Have a few different styles. And are only 200 dollars or so more expensive.

There are just a TON of CCW wheels at autox events.

BTW I think I'm going with a 17x12 in front with a 17x10 or 10.5 in back.
All with 315's

Sometimes I think you do things just to be different.

How much are Kodiaks anyway?

I can't remember if it was through them or just a dealer, but I saw a couple different styles I liked for around $500. I beleive $499.

Which is only about $25 per wheel difference.

The wider wheel would give better turn in response at the tire, and the back would have a softer sidewall for power down.

But yeah, I do try to be different. Actually I should re-state that. I end up being different. Whether I try or not.

I've seen a few sets of 17x11 ZR1's go for around 450 lately. You can get them cheaper if you're willing to go with 36 or 38mm offset that the older corvette's run. Most people avoid that offset so you won't have as much competition.

What are the pros and cons of either offest? Whats the standard F-Body offset?

yeah...they are cheap....as long as you don't need SILVER and the 56/50mm offset combo...

$470 - $590 EVERYWHERE...

The 38mm offset will give you a wider stance than the 56mm (if this is backwards, someone will chime in). While this may have some fenderwell clearance issues, it will give the car a wider stance by almost 1 1/2" total.

I rarely see 17x11's on eBay by themselves. Generally they are in sets of two 17x11's and two 17x9's (or 9.5's).

FWIW, I paid $700 shipped for four AFS Grand Sport wheels (17x11, +50, black) last year. Maybe too much, but there were several people that replied after I did trying to buy them.

I paid less than $500 shipped for my polished AFS wheels with +50 offset on Ebay. I haven't looked lately, but for a while you could get pairs of 17x11's. I just kept low balling the bids on pairs until I won a couple. Patients seems to be the keep to good prices.

I wish I had bid on those. That seller had a bunch of 17x11's up for sale a couple weeks ago-some new/used/blem.

Like I said....couple of weeks ago, you could buy them CHEAP EVERYWHERE....then I go to buy, and none available...only at much higher price....

I have a pair of polished AFS ZR-1 17x11s (50MM offset) that I'm thinking of putting up for sale, once I get new tires for another set of wheels that I have. How much is a pair of these worth without tires? They're in good shape, although one has a very small curb ding. Just curious...

The cheapest way to get a set of 17x11s off ebay is to buy two sets of 9.5s/11s and then sell the 9.5s as a set. I did this last year and ended up with a set of 4 new AFS 17x11s (50mm offset) in silver for $525.

No, you're correct. Roughly 6mm is equal to a 1/4". The lower (numerically) the offset, the more inboard the wheel.

I have 48mm offset Borbet Type T 17x9.5's that fit great. I can't imagine a 56mm. It would definitely do nothing to fill out the wheel well. I even keep my 1/4" spacers on in the rear even when I'm not running my 17x11's.

Lonnie, my thought on 17x12's in the front. While it might provide a more stable platform for the 315 tire I would think the extra mass would negate most if not all of that advantage. Plus the fitment would become a major problem. I guess if you spent the extra bucks to get a very light wheel you might be ok. For me to run a 12" I'd have to raise my front end up. And while I'm probably too low for optimium handling I like the way it looks. I know, a major contrdication from someone how wants great handling but this is a daily driver too. But with the 17x11's (or the 9.5's) I can't tell you how many people have come up to me and said "That's the way GM should have made all the F-Bodies".

one 17x11 wheel vs. one 17x12 wheel..
you're just adding a strip of aluminum that is 1" wide, 1/8" thick and about 53.4" long

Weight = Length x Width x Height x Density

W = 53.4 x 1 x 1/8 x 0.098
Weight = ~0.65 pounds
