How bad of an idea is a wheel spacer like this in 1/8 in behind the right rear of my '67 Camaro ?



The tire wants to slight rub the inner fender well / trunk area when going through dips on right hand turns or, turning "aggressively"

I can re-torque the lug nuts often , BUT don't want any mishaps ...

just in case someone wonders wheel is a 17x9.5 Cragar SS (steel) and tire is Nitto 555R Drag radial.

Thoughts or FHE ?

I can't believe you'd have a problem with it. I'd use one on either side though, vs. just on one wheel only.

Are you still using leaf springs ? If so it's possible that either the spring or hanger is bent.

I don't have a problem with wheel spacers - but that one looks to be a bit too 'universal'. The wheel contacts the hub in a ring around each stud - take a look at the backside of your wheels for the contact marks. Those oval slots, and the side by side slots in that spacer could reduce the contact area enough to affect the torque on the lugs by compressing the aluminum spacer.

I use 9/16" round holes in my spacers, same as the OEM rotors.

+1 on what Blaine said... his spacers are not that pricey, either.

How many turns of thread engagement do you get with your current studs and lugs now?

YES it's on Muti-leafs, and the spring hangers are new, I suppose the spring itself could be tweaked, BUT I'm doubting it ...

I haven't counted turns, but A LOT of thread engagement the wheels use a E/T conical seat lug similar to these :
