I was wondering if anyone has thought of starting a F-Body Road Racing and Autocross Facebook page? I use my cellphone a lot and cannot view the forums on it but I can look at most of Facebook on it. It would also be great if the Sponsors were also on Facebook in order to directly ask questions. cool2.gif

I had considered it, but as of yet I haven't done it. I'm not sure I have the ability to make the posts viewable through the FB page. But I'm open to any useful information that might help.

Great idea! You can use a special e-mail address they give you to post with your cellphone on pages. I have a Gecko Ranch page on there. It is a great tool to stay in touch using another format.

No I do not like that idea. I like our semi-secret status. It keeps the no-nothings and less serious out. I go to LS1tech whenever I want to read "kill stories" or some kid crying about how he forgot to bleed his brakes and went to drag race his Honda buddy down the street and couldn't stop.
OK maybe that's a little over the top, but I hope you know what I mean. I have trust for most everyone's opinion here, on other sites, not so much. Would a FB page open it up to more newbie members?

There's also a CMC page there too, no problems with street racers there. There are different ways to set up page so you have to be approved to join. I'd check it out Kevin, then decide.

The other option for cellphone people to look at forums is Tapatalk. That is a good one! It is easy to post with that too. The forum owner must obtain it somehow, I am not clear on the process.

Jules,

PM me the FB info and I'll look at it and get educated.

I like our semi secret status too guys. No worries.

The FaceBook cannot be linked to directly effect the Forum but can inform others of the forum with a link if you want it too. I was just talking about away for the forum members to connect rapidly. And a way for the more experienced to share their knowledge. Sponsors could also have access to a larger customer base.

I completely agree. We are not the average F-body owners. 30 secs on LS1Tech makes it pretty obvious. I'm not against new members (we were all new at one point), but I'd rather have new members have to go looking for us than stumble upon us on Facebook. Quality > Quantity.

Facebook is great for connecting people on the internet who otherwise wouldn't be connected. We're already all connected on the internet, in one place. I'd rather keep the tech concentrated in 1 place for easy searching.

I agree. LS1Tech has gotten real bad. I like coming here and getting the info and answers I need without the BS I get on LS1 Tech.
