I have one of those stickers. I just saw it again the other day (at home somewhere). I'm just glad that Koni is modest....

Excellent choice! I'm waiting on my AFR 195's to be delivered within the next couple weeks! Been wondering what colour to paint my block and black looks pretty good with the heads. Wish you were running carb like myself so we could swap cam info tho sad.gif What are you running for a cam anyway? My heads will be going on a 10:1 406 that's only revving to 5500 or so. So for now I'm going semi modest with an XE274(had to pick something I could still run the stock gears, tranny, converter with on the street).

Oh, also did you buy the heads assembled from AFR or do them yourself? Seen some mixed posts around the net lately and sometimes the pre-assembled heads ,even from AFR, have some leftover metal still caught in the seats among other places. Still a rare occurance from the reviews I've seen but I'm checking them over fully myself anyway(really should with any pre-assembled head I guess).

As sad is this is, I don't know the cam specs. I need to ask the engine builder again. I forgot.

I painted the block red. i went back and forthe from red to black.

i did get them asm'd. Your observations on metal shavings scares me.

ohmy.gif Oooooooh I really like the red...or maybe the Ferrari poster in the back is what's selling me tongue.gif

You have some sweet stuff going on that motor. Making me wish I went with the Canton road racing pan now instead of the moroso street/strip dry.gif

About the heads and left over shavings... You really always should check over someone else's work especially when putting as much money as we tend to do with our cars(sorry if I sound like everyones mom here). Even a thourough(how do you spell that?) visual inspection along with some scrubbing and your choice(s) of cleaners to make sure all ports, chambers, gasket surfaces and the rocker valley are clean is easy and doesn't take as much time nor the tools that totally reassembling the heads does(your engine builder probably does this anyway). I would at least tap on the springs with a rubber mallet to see if anything falls out mind you.
