I have done an HPDE in a rental.......
I bought this car for HPDE, autocross and to keep a street driver.
Its a 99 six speed Z28
Has Strano springs
Koni DA on front
Koni SA on rear
1LE front bar
Stock rear bar
I have been gathering parts to put C6 brakes on the front.....
I was told for my first couple of HPDE's until I learn I could use the stock stuff with a good pad and fluid, now I am fairly aggressive so I need a pad on those lines.
I understand for best results I need to change pads for the HPDE day, no problem there.
I did a search on here, but pad technology seems to be evolving at a fast rate as of late.
The tracks I will run at are:
No Problem in La
Barber in Bham
Road Atlanta
With that said, serve up your ideas on what I need for pads and fluid and where to get them.
Thanks

I use nothing but Carbotech. A little pricey, but really great pads. Give them a call and they will tell you what kinds to get.

I called carbotech they said xp10 and xp8. Carbotech is out of the 8. Who else sells these in stock?

Cobalt makes good pads but I don't know if they offer pads for Fbodies.

I used Axxis Ultimate pads on my M Coupe and Firebird. Good stopping power, more than enough for HPDE. Zero fade. Very little dust. Reasonable price.
And ATE blue/amber. Makes changing fluid easy to see.

Per Justin @ Hawks rec, I bought dtc30 for the front and HP+ for the rear and super blue fluid all from tire rack

IMHO, On street tires, you won't surpass the dtc30. Dunno about the HP+ in rear... I think you got the right level of pad and $$$.
