Here are the ones I am looking at....

I assume all HPDE require SA 2005 at a minimum?

Gforce modified@219 bux

HJC ar 10@300 ish

What are you wearing and the price of it?

I'm sure it varies, but locally the requirements are the same as autox. This means m2000+. That said, no reason to buy twice if your planning on going w2w in the next five years.

Don't assume. If the HPDE has a website, check the rules. If they don't, call somebody. I tried to limit my upfront expense when I was starting out and it ended up costing me.

If it were me going from my experience, I got hooked right away on the HPDE/time trial racing and ended up buying two helmets. If I were doing it again, I would buy the least expensive most current model(SA2010). If you anticipate w2w racing is in your future, you have a decision to make on buying a SAH2010 which supports Hans device.

The new helmets (SA 2010) are supposedly built differently depending on head size and shape so trying them on will be critical.

I have an SA2005 helmet and it has the holes to put the Hans anchors in. Not sure what is different about the SAH?

It's a Rezoom event at Barber 3-26. I was told by a guy that just took the PAC tec inspector class that as of June 2011 all lids will have to be snell SA 2010.

I just bought an HJC Ar 10 II from Saferacer.

Bell open face snell SA2010, $240 at ogracing.com Has holes for HANS also. That's my new AX/HDPE helmet.
