TTT. Anyone have some feedback with the iPhone? I was looking at Harry's Lap timer
http://gps-laptimer.de/Home.html it looks very capable and only $20 for the pro version. It looks like it can use the camera directly in the iphone for video, the GPS and accelerometer built into the phone, and can integrate with OBD II for engine data (rpm, wheel speeds, voltage, temps, throttle position etc). Seems like it is as capable as a 1000$ Data system that I was looking at a couple years ago but this one is $20. But the GPS is as limited as the phone and they recommend something with a higher frequency (as mentioned by Eskimo).
What I couldn't find so far is how does the phone connect to the OBDII of the vehicle? A quick google search:
http://www.amazon.com/goPoint-Technology-O...e/dp/B00336S7KS $99 for a cable.
A friend of mine highly recommends the Harry's Lap Timer. He uses it in his M3/iphone4* combination. He was recommending it to us, but, unfortunately, we're still running the 'old school' iphone 3, so we're out in the cold, again. I think he uses the lap timer as well as the phone's video capability to video his run and record his lap.
When I get my home laptop up and running, I'll see if I have any correspondence from him, as I think he also had a line on a good GPS for the thing.
