I had a slow day a work today, so I been looking around the internet. My confidence in a Hennessey product is quite low.
I am still in Illinois but I got the urge to drive something other than the rental, so I grabbed a buddy from work and we went to look at some cars.
He wanted to take a Porsche on a test drive, but the dealer just handed him some brochures instead of car keys.
I took him down the street to a Chevy dealership to show him how it is done. We had the keys to a black+orange Camaro SS RS, after 2 minutes of us hitting the lot. We took it for a test ride on some country back roads. The sales guy was really young, around 20 or so. He was very quiet sitting in the back seat when I hit the red line in 4th gear. He later told us that, that was the fastest he ever rode in a car. We drove the car by the parking lot at work, had the sales guy take a picture of us "to see how we would look with it"

than took it back to the sales lot.
The car itself feels heavy and "boaty" I was not too impressed. Only thing I kind of liked about driving it was the shifter, it had a "switch" like feel to it. Feels a lot different than a GTO, CTS V-Type, or 4th gen shifter. Oh by the way there is no legroom in the back, less than in a 4th gen, and much less than the GTO, whichsurprisinglyngly roomy.
After we dropped the car off, my friend pointed out that taking a Camaro for a joy ride is not the same as a 911 given the price difference, so we acrosscross the street to a BMW dealer. I looked around the lot and the most expensive car they had there, that was worth driving, and found an M3. 10 minutes later we were driving down the street with the sales guy giving us directions to a "twisty road." He took us to a nice spot too, it was about 3 miles of sharp twisties up and down a hill, with no one in sight. I drove the M3 at about 6/10, it handled nicely too, solid brakes, and good pick up, but I did freak out both my buddy and the sales dude sitting in the back. So I drove him back nice and civilized to the dealership. We did not have this guy take pictures of us.
The definitelyfietly drives better just not $65K better. As for looks, the Camaro looks much better at least from the outside.
The price I am willing to pay for a Camaro keeps dropping.
