Full Version: Looking for a battery for my Cam-FX DVR

I've asked on a couple of other forums, and am not getting very far. I figure I'll ask here, too:

We have a Cam-FX V5 Digital Video Recorder. The thing works pretty well, but we only have one battery. On more than one occasion, I've forgotten to recharge it between events. It will NOT power the unit if I miss a recharge for a month. Note that the battery does charge, but if I don't charge it soon before the event, it won't hardly power-on the unit.

I wanted to order a couple of spare batteries, and after spending a lot of time online, found a battery that has the same voltage and amperage specs and looked about the same. When they arrived, though, the simply will not work. Every physical measurement is off by a couple of mm.

Does anyone know the PART NUMBER for the PROPER battery for these things? The samsung AB553446bab, and it's derivatives, simply will not work. Thank you.

Well, my first choice was not right. It was about 2 mm off in each dimension. After some discussion with the sales folks at Batteries4less.com, we arrived at a solution.

It looks like the battery that fits, and appears to work, is a battery that fits several Nokia phones, like the model N70, 1100, 1110, etc. It appears to be a Nokia BL-5C battery. I got them from Batteries4less.com and it is their BTNK-3650-MLIN21.

I have one charged already, and the other is charging. Hopefully we'll be set until we replace this system. Thanks.

I done a stupid thing at Daytona last week. Set the battery up in the 65 Mustang for my run then left it on for an hour and got exactly 10 seconds of incar, a long way to go for that and I was only scheduled to do one run duh!

Eww, that hurts! Yeah, at my last event, I was wanting to test how visible our new tach was. I keep thinking about replacing the gauges with a Stack dash when we get the new engine, but when reviewing our video, which is in-car, and can display the driver inputs and dash, with the black-faced Autometer tach, you can hardly see what it's reading. I keep thinking I'd like to replace it for better visibility. I found this tach that has a white-face, and was pretty cheap for everything you get, so I went ahead and got it. We've had the tach in the car for three months, and so far have yet to get a second of in-car video!

This last trip was the second, or third time I've had the recorder fail due to me missing a recharge. Hopefully, now, that is behind us.
