National F-Body Motorsport Event, May 18-19 2012 Memphis

Event Participation:
Base Event Fee - Cost: $30.00

Drag Racing - Cost: $80
Run till you drop. Plenty of time for Test & Tune for new setups. Lots of other Fbody drag racers to help.

Road Course - Cost: $200
Novice School, extra instruction, and open track time. Be careful...this is addictive. Road Course is a prerequisite for the Time Trial event. See Fbody cars that actually can turn corners.

Road Course Timed Event - Cost: $50
Test your skill and car setup against other drivers and the clock. Must register for Road Course and have instructor sign off to compete.

AutoX - Cost: $30
Best damned autocross value in the nation. Test your skill against top cone killers from around the U.S. Practice session and Race sessions.

Car Show - Cost: $0
Judged by event attendees, not snooty judges with gloves. Car show is free with any paid registration including spectator. Please register for Car Show so we can get an approximate count in order to have enough ballots and appropriate parking available.

T-Shirts - Cost: $15
Register and pay here for event t-shirts. Availability of additional shirts at the event cannot be guaranteed. If you want an official shirt - order it here.

Awards Banquet and Raffle - Cost: $10
Catered by Central BBQ! Includes Dinner of Pulled Pork, Beans and slaw!

As an 11 year attendee and former event chairman for this event, I can offer you guys some guidance on this event.

If you are a hard core racer, and don't give a @#$% about your fellow owners and drivers, only attend events to compete and get pissed off when you don't win...please do not go to this event. You will ruin it for the people that do go.

If you love F-body cars, an occasional Vette or Stang, practical jokes and regular jokes, comraderie, some (or even many) beers with friends, and some good looking cars (sometimes a few women too) then you will likely love this event. Bring the wife (husband, sig other) and kids but give them Mall money because they may get bored with all the fun you are having. It is a laid back and informal weekend.

Sign up for at least one event, even if you don't want to compete because that is how they pay the track bills. Show your car in the car show. Nobody really cares if it is not perfect. The perfect cars do not attend this event.

And if you win an event...brag about it to all your friends...you are a National Event Champion.

Thanks for sharing the info.

I've done some marquis events and while I'm very competitive in w2w, I understand that aint the goal here. We'll see how the schedule shakes out!

Balls - this would have been a cool event to drag your GT-1 down to. Maybe if you skip the 24 hour at TWS and go to the March ECR event instead?
