I’ve been away from the board for a couple years, but it was not intended. It’s been eventful time.
In the beginning of the 2010 autocross season I ran my BMW in a couple of events for fun while I figured out why the Camaro wouldn’t start. But at the end of April I sprained my left ankle, that side lined me for about a month, and just as I was feeling better, I was involved in a car accident. I got rear-ended on the freeway in my BMW by a guy in a 5 series. I was stopped and he was doing 50+ mph. It put my 128 in the body shop for 15 weeks and I was in physical therapy for longer than that. They replaced just about everything behind the rear seat of the car. Buy the time I recovered the season was almost over and just finished it with the Bimmer. Also during this time I moved in with my girlfriend and her 5 year old daughter. So now I lived more that a half hour from where my Camaro was stored and I just didn’t get around to fixing it.
That winter I had to help out with my girlfriend’s daughter, who had surgery to one of her arms to try to fix her fused elbow (a condition from birth). So when the 2011 season started the Camaro was still broken and I had gotten engaged to my girlfriend. In May my feet were hurting, so I went to a doctor to have them looked at. I had flat feet and need shoe inserts, but also discovered a bone spur growing out of my right heal that was cutting into my Achilles tendon and I needed to do something very soon. In June I had the operation, they had to disconnect my tendon and remove the spur and reattach the tendon with screws. This put me off my feet for weeks and unable to even drive for 2 months. It wasn’t until October until I felt up to trying autocross. I did finally get the Camaro running again in November.
So now my fiancée and I are building a new house so we can merge all our stuff. I’m not going to do much with the Camaro this year ether, dealing with the build and selling my old house, so I maybe able to be running the Camaro again in 2013.
