I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for making this a great place to hang out, relax, and exchange information.
When Chris posted that he was going to tackle another project and he would be offering the frrax.com board for sale, I quickly made arrangements to buy it. I did this for one primary reason. This is a great place to hang out and I didn't want to see anything change that. So, I doubt that anyone will really notice much of a change around here and I feel that is a good thing. I still believe that the membership should have a "say" in many decisions, and I hope to follow Chris's example of asking for input before making any major changes.
I have only a few basic goals.
1. Keep things running as smoothly as possible.
2. Look for ways to finance the operation of the board so it will remain self sufficient (fair enough?)
3. Get this "buying a house thing" out of the way so I can get back to racing.
Looking at the web traffic in the admin screens, it seems that we are growing. Traffic has slowly increased over the course of the year. This should make us more attractive to potential advertisers. I suspect that the only changes will be a few additional advertisers on the board. This will help to insure that the board has the required capital to operate and grow. Everything else should remain pretty much "as is". "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Thanks for your support.
Feel free to drop me a line with any questions, suggestions, ideas, etc.

Thanks Kevin,
Glad the board is continuing in good hands. The purchase frees me up to move on to some other things, I'm just spread very thin these days. I haven't had the time to give to the site that I think it has needed, either.
I'll still poke around and post here and there, so I'm not going away for good.

I saw this morning at 5:30 that your title said administrator.
I'm confident you'll do us right. You are just one of us afterall.
This is the only message board I ever go to and wan't it to stay that way.

Wow, I didn't figure anyone would notice.
That's why I did what I did. I'm just one of you and I intend to keep this place here for all of us. I didn't want it to morph into the disaster we've seen elsewhere.
And, most of all. Thanks!

Very cool Kevin! Thanks for taking this on and keeping it fun and informative for us.
I can relate about the house purchase deal, I am doing that now too and selling the one I am in. All I can say is I hope that it is all over soon for both of us!

Congrats Kevin! For a brief second I considered buying it, since I have a craptacular amount of web experience, and have had mod/administrator experience on other boards before. But then I realized, I barely have enough time to post, let alone run the thing. This site is an awesome resource, and I look forward to seeing it grow. If you need any help with anything, I am just a quick PM away.

It was hard to keep mum about the new owner. I was excited that Kevin jumped in to take over when Chris needed to focus elsewhere. It secured this place for the future.

Chris did a great job in setting this place up, but he really dropped the ball on one detail. Maybe you can fix it now, Kevin. Until then, though, you'll just have to use your imagination

...thanks for keeping this place intact and taking on the task.Even though I guess it was at a cost.None the less this place is the greatest .You and most everybody here are really helpfull when asked. What more could a budding racer ask for other than more track time
And I have to thank the creator Good Job Chris hellava idea.

Thanks for your investment Kevin. It is an investment in all of us and our niche hobby, and we appreciate it. I hope that it will be mutually rewarding.
And thank you Chris. He believed in us when I didn’t. Chris had asked my opinion of starting a board for Fbody RR’s and AX’ers. I told him that I would enjoy it, but that it probably wouldn’t reach critical mass. I thought that it would require a few “key” gurus in the field whom others would follow because they respected their opinions and knowledge. I really thought that they were happy enough with the available board choices, and it is hard to overcome the advantage of the status quo. I was wrong. We got those key players, a focused group of enthusiasts, and lost all the annoying fluff of the other boards. It feels so much like a small family that I think I could buy something from the classifieds here without being ripped off

. Thanks for being an optimist Chris.
And Chris, now that you don’t have a miss, did you ever try AX’ing? I know there are some guys in your area that would be glad to help you dip your toe in the water.

It was a reasonable price to pay to insure the future of the board. I agree, this place is like family. Last weekend, Brian (shortbus) asked if I wanted to help with an LS1 brake swap and installing some suspension parts, I said "sure". Not that I'd ever met him or even talked on the phone with him. I had him drop by and we got lots done in a fun afternoon (and his '96 is nicer than my 2002). Great guy (and he has a remarkably tolerant and outstandingly understanding wife as well, who put up with all of us for the day), seemed like I'd known him all my life (racer types are like that, as you all know). I feel like I've known most of you guys that same way. And, if you are ever in Columbus, Ohio, look me up, we'll grab lunch or a beer. That is why I decided to take over. I wanted to preserve that for us all.
I still seem to be a few rockers short.....
Now all I need to do is talk bob into making me a set of brake brackets.....

Kevin,
Just to echo what has already been said. Thanks for taking on the task, and keeping this place going. It really is a niche board, but there is alot of room for growth. There are very very very few places on the internet, where there is such wealth of GOOD suspension tech for f-cars of all generations, I have a feeling that the tech in general will start to draw people who don't RR/AX, but will start coming here for the technical information available.

Thanks for the kind words Bob. You guys have been a great group. This has to be
the most mature and well mannered car board out there.
Still haven't made it to an autocross yet. I wanted to do the Evolution school back in April but I had to much else going on. I'm kinda wanting to make that my first dip so I might hold off until the school comes back to town.
Also looking at an M6 swap in late summer/fall so I can get serious about trying some open track stuff.

Chris,
I've not done an evolution school (yet), but I'd consider running an event or two to get a feel for things before heading to school. I would suspect that you'll get that much more out of it. But, I could always be wrong.

This board is awesome, I've learned tons of stuff, but i would like to see a calendar of track days (of any sort) and who's going when, so I know where and where I could go.
If you need any unix/website/general geek help, I'd be more than happy to help you out with anything, I run few boards of my own so I'm no newb to that. Btw, when are you gonna upgrade the board to a new version, there is an exploit for this one I think.

I'll have to look into that. I'm still new to this and trying to get a feel for "making adjustments" without knocking us down. I may need to get with Chris and his "help" for a little guidance.
