What is the easiest way to remove the rubber marks from the front and sides of the car without messing up the decals or paint?

After several events the black marks are starting to blend together making for a new solor scheme on my camaro.... Thought it might be time to clean it, so I can put new marks down, if it is a pain I will just leave em and call it racing...

All work, brake clean is the best, buy name brand as some will hurt the stickers.

Acrylic enamel reducer. Comes in gallon quantities and is cheap so you can saturate your rag and go to town. Go gentle on the vinyl and stickers as it will eat into them if much pressure is applied.

For the graphics...... My graphics guy prints the color on white vinyl. Brake cleaner will take the ink right off. We started placing a clear overlay over the printed graphics and that protects them from the brake cleaner.

simple green also works

Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover works really well, won't hurt vinyl, and doesn't even take off the wax. Make sure you shake the bottle first. It is best to spray it on and let it set for 10 seconds or so. Funny thing is that it doesn't work very well on bugs or tar.

Thanks for the responses, looks like most of the mentioned material is already in the garage. Maybe this weekend I will try removing my black marks over a couple beers..... Where are your friends when you need them huh?

Set up a 'detail party' in the garage. Offer up some _good_ beer, and you'll be surprised how many show up....... to drink your beer.

I was thinking of enlisting the help of the local kids (pizza and soda "Jolt Cola") not sure on the slave labor laws and the volumetric vapor concerns, exposure times that some of this material may have... hey if Nike doesn’t care why should I?

Well the Grandkids came over but they wanted to play in the pool, not help PaPa get tire marks off the car....

I wouuld have never thought it, but just spray it onto the car or rag, wipe some on the spots, wait a second, then go back and wipe off the black marks. It also keeps the decals in great shape while supplying a thin flim of lube to deture more marks in the same location...

On my 94 LT1 car I will wipe WD 40 on the rear fenders before I take it to the dragstrip, rubber wipes right off when I get thome.

I have been using blue painters tape and taping the areas where the rubber wants to stick to the car. Takes a little time, but it comes off easy and I know it is easier than cleaning it after the rubber is stuck to the car.

I have tried almost all the above, but found Joe Gibbs foaming degreaser while reading up on their oils.

Ordered a single can to try it out and now buy it by the case. The place I it from then tried and now use it on their drag cars. I promise you will be impressed. If you do it same day, it is crazy easy, if you leave it on over the winter it takes a little more, but not much more.
