So, I've had this car nearly 10 years. Bought it when I was 19! It's been a blast to drive and I've put a lot of time and money in modding it. But, I can't seem to shake my love for the C6 vettes and I'm thinking of buying a used Z06 or GS. I could keep the Camaro and have a big payment and two play toy cars, but that would be a bit expensive. So, I was wondering if some of y'all could help me come up with an asking price. I've seen similar heads/cam cars go for around $12k with similar mileage/year but most don't have some of the extras as mine. Any help would be appreciated! Here's the specs...
1998 Silver Z28 83k miles t top
m6 with Tick Performance level 2 upgrade, textralia oz700 z grip, Tick adj. master
stock bottom end with Katech rod bolts
TEA stg2 LS6 heads, 11.1:1 comp, custom ground cam (specd by Patrick G) 232/234; 612/593 112+2
Yella Terra rockers, FAST 90 ported by Tony Mamo at AFR, Nick Williams tb
Ported LS6 oil pump, QTP headers and ory, Magnaflow catback with Corsa clone tips
moser 9" with TruTrac and 4.30 gears
Koni da's f&r with H&R springs 650f/200r, Strano sways f&r
chrome ZR-1s with Nitto nt05s 275f 315r
VFN Sunoco hood, Sparco sport seats (also have stock leathers) on factory sliders
GM monsoon sound system, all options other than stering wheel radio controls and traction control
Almost forgot....makes 446rwhp and 394rwtq thru the 9"!!!
Sooooo, any thoughts?

I saw a 2002 SS with 44k miles on Autotrader locally with a similar set up recently. He was asking $22.5k, but it's still for sale. I also saw a 2002 convertable SS that looked mostly stock and had less than 60k miles listed for $16k from a dealer, bit it's gone. The only other local listing is a 2002 35th anniversary car for $18K.
I would say check the local cars for sale in your area and see what they are going for. Obviously you have more that a stock car, but honestly your upgrades won't add much to the price. You never get out what you put in. You can also use the KBB and/or NADA prices to get in the ball park.
I would probably start listing it at $17K and see how it goes. That's just a guess though, they may be worth more or less in your area.

Yes, sadly enough, mods usually
detract from the price sellers end up getting for their pride and joys, unless they find someone who is looking for EXACTLY what they are selling, or have special, rare, features select buyers are looking for (i.e.; limited/special editions, low/no option stripped hardtops, 7 liter conversion Bergers, etc.).

I bought mine 2 years ago (02 Camaro SS), 345 hp package, Pacesetter longtubes, true dual exhaust, Torq wheels (18x8/18x9) good tires, lid, drilled/slotted DBA rotors, EBC yellowstuff pads, Koni SA f/r, Votglund springs. Car had 65,000 miles, leather all power, t tops, and had some custom paint, clear corners, whistler head lights and tint. I gave 13K for it. Probably could have bought it for less, but the young guy I bought it from was a nice guy and needed the money worse than I did. I got a very solid car. I would imagine you could get $15-16k +/- 2K maybe, just depends on the market where you are and finding the right buyer. You might also post up on ls1tech in the "whats it worth section."

Thanks for the responses! I'm aware that the mods don't really add a lot to the value, which is why I've held onto it for so long. If you include the price of the car when I got it in 02 I probably have around $30k in it. I actually was guessing around $15-17k, I think I'd let it go for that. Probably cry like a baby when it drives away tho, haha!

I bought my 99 SS last summer for $14000 with 68000 miles. Just for a reference.

Some of the prices in this thread blow my mind. I'm not saying they aren't selling for that, but I paid $8500 for mine back in 2005 and I still thought I over paid. Some of these are well into C5Z prices.

I was thinking the same thing. $15k? No way. I've seen beautiful, low mileage SS Camaro's going for well under $10K.
I have a beautiful black 97 SS with 98,000 miles, a list of mods that goes forever, including a 396 LT1 making 430hp.
I wanted to do CMC. My options were sell my car, or turn it into a CMC car. Selling it would have been very tough, finding that one person looking for the exact same thing. It's funny because I always modify my cars in some way, yet I HATE buying a car that's anything other than stock. I would have had to just about give the car away.
Even though a lot of people think I'm crazy for cutting up such a pretty car, it is just a Camaro, they are a dime a dozen. I'm glad I decided to turn my car into a CMC car because as of today, I have sold nearly $5000 worth of stuff off of it. The SS hood and spoiler, $1000. The engine $3500.
Honestly, throw it up for $12K and see if it goes. No matter what you sell it for, you'll be happy once you have a shiny new C6 in your garage!

I only paid ~$20K for mine BRAND SPANKING ORDERED NEW in 2000!!!
Granted, that was a stripped 1SC Z28 hardtop, and I had a few GM bucks from the card, but it DID include dealer prep, taxes, and registration fees.

In all fairness mine is hugger orange (very important to me), was untouched, and came with a bunch of the original paper work. I willingly paid a little extra for mine. It was still a little bit to much though. oh well

You got the car you wanted at a price you could pay, so it's all cool. And I hope mesospeedy can sell his for a price he's happy with, but it's still crazy talk!
