No kidding! It's a long ways away from me, but someday I want to experience it. Great race too!

I have a mate who keeps a 64 Mustang over your side of the pond and regularly races over in the States I have already shared at Daytona, if he ever does this track I will be up for it if the offer is there! he sometimes shares my cars back in the UK but prefers the 2nd gen over the 3rd!

I'm a long way North of Texas, but may consider a very long haul to that track someday.
Does anybody know if their planning to use the track for any other series or amateur racing?

There are a lot of other series planning on using the track. Hopefully there'll be NASA, SCCA and other series there. The motorcycle guys are planning some races there. Heck, a motorcycle racer helped design the course. The Australian V8 Super Cars series is planning at least one event there, hopefullly they'll like it enough to return.
The track is available for rental. They'd have to to keep the place running when F1 is not there, and probably even moreso because of F1. $50K/day gets you and 23 of your closest buddies on track for a day! Hurry up, though, it looks like the December events are filling up!
SCCA has a date in March if I recall. NASA will try and get a date for sure. Rental fee was $50K (so I was told) per weekend for hosting events w/ groups like NASA and SCCA. Surely NASA will try and book Nationals there as soon as possible. There is a new track in New Orleans that is as nice or nicer than Miller. So NASA has a 2nd option for a National event in the south if COTA is not available for the target dates or is cost prohibitive. We shall see what the entry fee is for the planned SCCA event.
The track was designed w/ cars and bikes in mind. So the plan from the start was to have Moto GP there.

Race was awesome, Facility is incredible. I'll have a write-up with pics soon.
Glenn, you're way low on your rental price.
SCCA has a double national in March that I'll likely run Scratcher in.
Costas cars and such...

It's Monday. You're bored. Look at some racing pics and read a story...
Wow, from a distance they almost look as good as the 'pretty' F1 cars from the days of yore, as the ridiculous; barge boards, diaplanes, raised shark noses, smaller rear tracks than front, diffusers, etc. are not as readily apparent/noticeable.
