Full Version: Low-Profile Thermostatic Oil Cooler Adapter Now Available

ImprovedRacing

Our low-profile oil cooler adapter is now available with a built-in thermostat! The angled front cutout and a maximum thickness of just 1.30" makes this unit slim enough to clear most headers.

Street cars with oil coolers help keep the oil from getting too hot, but are also prone to allowing oil temperatures to drop low, especially in colder weather or during highway driving. The unit's built-in thermostat helps protect the engine by speeding up warm-up time and maintaining oil temperatures at optimal levels. The thermostat starts to open at 180F and is fully open by 200F.

The adapter features a 1/8" NPT port for an oil sensor or turbo oil supply. It's machined from a single piece of 6061-T6 aluminum and is black anodized. Includes anodized adapter fittings for -10AN or -8AN lines (your choice).

Features and Benefits

- Built-in thermostat helps protect the engine and reduce oil starvation by preventing oil temperatures from dropping below optimal levels

- 1/8" NPT port for a sensor or turbo oil feed line
- Retains stock oil filter location

- 6061-T6 billet aluminum construction and black anodized finish

We deburred these units by running a small chamfer along the edges, so they have a very polished look. You can see the chamfers in the image below.

I just installed one of these in a 1966 GTO, fit and function are great! Car is a daily driver/autox/track car, it's done a couple autoxes, a day a day at Laguna and a bunch of street miles since installation.

Nice piece Michael!
