This is the second time I have spun the car at the exact same spot on this track. Separate events on different tires.


Too much trail brake? Too much speed? Both?

Tires are BFG R1's.

Spin is at 4:10, the rear just steps out, so hard I can't catch it.

Similar deal in this vid, different spot on track but I do catch it(barely). This is the same event as the above vid, same tires.

I would say the first on was due to too much trail braking. It did snap around real quick!

Second one IMHO is textbook "pushing loose". You have quite a bit of steering input in the car because it won't rotate. Once the car finally begins to rotate mid corner/corner exit, all that steering input causes the rear end to come around; where in fact the car was understeering. Happens quite often. People believe because the car is loose off a corner, it needs to be tightened up...where in reality it's only loose because of all the steering input given due to the understeer.

Nice save on #2! How do you like the new swaybar configuration?

If you look at the second vid that corner requires a lot of steering input, it's a 180 degree corner. See turn 3






I like the bars, I put a much better posi in the car and am thinking about going back to the 22 on the rear I have the rear shocks on full loose......your thoughts on that?


I like being able to crack the gas open early and go to the floor once the car is done rotating. The car seems hooked up off the corner pretty good in the way it is now.

Give up the right hander in favor of the left hander. Roll on the gas as you unwind the wheel, not before.

I crack the gas open as early as I can on every corner(as soon as my mind will let me anyway).

For a set of linked corners, like that one, the important one to get right is the last one - the last corner leads into an acceleration zone and the entry to that corner should not be compromised.

For example, in the first video:
4:08 you've turned in too early, are passing the apex of the right with the car lined up and driving straight for the next apex. Try turning in a little later, and don't unwind at the apex - ie you want to line the car up parallel to track right at the exit.

4:11 you are already at the inside track left and you've just started turning the car, and you have most of the turn left to get around. On a proper line you would well over to the right, and already have the car rotating, for a much later apex.

4:13 your hands are lost, time for both feet in and slide straight off, there is nothing to hit out there. Someday you'll be doing this with one or more cars right on your tail and they need to know which direction you are going.
