Long time, no see!

I have had my "only used once" full floater setup sitting in storage for a long time. Recently, I sent it to my gear shop to have it given the once over. He checked it all out and it was good but for a slightly bent axle tube. We had had them cambered before and took it to a race shop to have the axles put back to spec.

Here are a few photos of the setup as it sits now:

Here is the setup:

• Speedway Engineering Full Floater Housing
• Mark Williams Aluminum Center Section w/3.55 rear gears
• 31 Spline Axles
• Wilwood SuperLite Brake Caliper/Rotor setup to match to Stoptech ST60s in Front
• DPI Platinum Trac Differential

The whole setup had 4th Gen Camaro brackets put on it to work with the Unbalanced Engineering Decoupled Torque Arm setup.

The housing was approx. $900 new, the center sections start at $2000 on Mark Williams site, and the brakes were around $1000 or so, and then axles, seals, etc...all adds up. Over $5000 in it new....

I am looking at a FIRE SALE on this as it has sat for a long time and needs a home.

Was looking at $2000 OBO.

Hoping to sell local in Norcal so I can deliver.

Sweet Jesus that's a deal. What's the camber on it? If I'm reading correctly - the slightly bent tube was repaired after the accident?

Would you be willing to ship?

It was cambered. If I remember right, we cambered it at 1/2 a degree. I now some did more, but my rear end shop recommended less. I could get the details from him on it for you tho...

I would be willing to ship, but because of the PITA factor of doing that, it would be my last resort. I will keep you in mind for sure!

Fucking tired of blowing up 10 bolts

Edit: If you can't sell it locally and 79T/A backs out, I will take it as a sign that the universe needs me to have this and I will buy it. Just please make that decision before I buy a new set of Hoosiers.

Randy - totally understand not wanting to ship. Keep me in mind though if you get to that point.

Like land, I'm tired of blowing up 10 bolts. Killed 3 in as many seasons. I just built a fresh 10 bolt, but I know it's going to explode just like the last 3. Worst part is I need a new transmission, but this thing is such a deal I might not be able to pass it up.

Same boat as you know. Built a brand new 10 bolt in May and it lasted 4 events and 34 runs. Rebuilt it again with a fresh diff and gears and it lasted two weeks, 2.5 events, and broke on the 17th run.

You got me beat dude, I typically got a full summer out of each one till it ended up in chunks. I thought I was the baddest 10 bolt assassin in the land before you came along.

Road racing? Standing starts? What kind of power are you guys running?

Autocross. Standing starts at 3350lb race weight and ~370 whp. Both failures happened during ProSolos on concrete and this little guy is the culprit.

I had pretty good luck with the 10 bolt...but I am typically easy on equipment....when I don't flip 8 times at 150 MPH that is...hehe. I raced the Camaro for 8 years with the 10 bolt and broke it about 3 or 4 times. I just needed this to handle the new 690 HP Mast LS7, NASCAR Jericho, and severe braking and suspension I put in the car.....worked AMAZING for three test sessions, a practice, a qualifier and 5 laps of a race then....the Camaro....may it rest in peace....bought the farm.

But this is a KILLER race setup....near bulletproof as you can make it.

Randy built a BAD ASS Camaro. A truly wicked beast. Unfortunately it was replaced with a Corvette after the "worst" truly happened to it.

Yeah....a lot of my old parts are on a lot of cars around here still I am sure! I have been mucho busy with kids and life. I only raced the Corvette once last year and once a few weeks ago. Spend a TON of time at kids events and toting my son around the country to hockey tournaments.....still got the but though....

I saw that the Vette recently came out of mothballs. And I've noticed that you guys play more hockey than most pros. It looks like it's going well and you're having fun. So, I think you're on the right track.

Welcome back, Randy. Yeah, some of that history NOBODY wants to relive, but it is good to see for noobies who really need to see the importance of safety equipment!!
