I'm currently watching the English language streaming broadcast of the race at the above link. Good coverage and good video quality.

Man, it is pissing down rain there, but doesn’t seem to be slowing them down much. ph34r.gif

I found the link on Corner Carvers and figured I should post it here. I've been watching it for about 7 hours (off and on). There has been some remarkable driving and even the "bad crashes" have been pretty "mild" (considering how bad they could be). I've been quite impressed with the driving and generally clean racing.

Hmm, now red flagged. :-/

Yea, they brought it back for a 90 minute sprint race to the end (in the rain). It was quite a show. I got up in time to catch the last hour or so of it and that was some impressive (and crazy) racing. Good stuff.

Yeah, the 'live' Youtube show you posted turned out to be a recorded session, so I got to watch the red flag session, and most of the finish (between doing Sunday chores). Seems like it rained pretty much 100% of the event. That has to be maddening for the teams and support.

Odd. When I woke up the next morning there was only 45 minutes of racing left. I saw no rain from when I turned it on with 17 hours to go all the way down to about 12 hours to go (Maybe into the 11 hour mark, not sure when I went to bed). When I woke up they said they just resumed a little bit before I tuned in. The whole time I watched the first evening, they were talking about the rain and hail that were on the way, so they knew it was coming.

Towards the end, after the red flag, there were a couple of spots, one a short straight, where it just looked wet, but it was definitely raining elsewhere. On the plus side, if the camera is clean, you can really see the aero at work on those cars. Very interesting to see where the air is concentrated and directed.

Agreed. And the rooster tails that came up behind those rear wings were pretty impressive. Those cars really "use" the air. Neat stuff.
