... with NASA-NE.

Fast track and fun times. Would love to get more F-Bodies out there.

I would love to get out to a HPDE, but time, money, and the car don't usually cooperate! The NASA Northeast group is a really great group. If money allows I'll probably join them at Pocono sometime next year instead. I've heard that Watkins Glen was a pretty intimidating track since there is a lot of concrete not too far off course. Also, an instructor I know spun a bearing and went off. Fortunately he had the better AAA and got an almost free tow home to NJ!

I went to an event at the Glen in May and it is all you would hope for.
Challenging track, lots of fun and I learned alot. PF Flyer was my instructor for day 2.
It is a bit intimidating the first few times out, just got to stay within the limits of your ability and car until you get experience and are comfortable out there.
Make sure your car is in top shape so you don't have to worry about it.
I can't make this event, but will be back on Oct 30 - 31. Great way to end the season.

I would love to go myself, but need air ducts to my brake rotors plus the $325 for the track time would mean I won't have my SS paid off by 10/15 as I am trying to accomplish. you all send me a message though, I live only 20 minutes from the track.

Aaron - stop by, it won't cost anything to get in an watch.

Mike - that was a great event with the SCDA folks. And having good students helps, too.

slowTA - The track is a little intimidating at first, but you get used to the layout after a couple of sessions and the concrete is covered with the 'soft wall' that NaScAr loves.

I would LOVE to go but time, money, the car, and what little sanity I have left are all telling me not to. I just started taking the car apart tonight for a motor swap, I still have the crappy cast iron calipers that are notorious for not working well, I need a steering box, school starts on August 30th, and I might be starting a new full time but temporary job in the coming weeks. If I get the job I'll take 2 classes at night (heat transfer and some lab that requires a report that is at least 25 pages every other week), if not I'm ready for 14 credits.

However, if I get the job, go insane and drop the classes, then drive the 100 or so miles to at least watch!

Always follow your instincts, they're usually right. cool.gif
I had a trip planned to Road Atlanta this past June, but as the event drew nearer, things just didn't seem right and I cancelled (with time in advance). It happens to us all. Good luck with the job and school, it's a lot on anyones plate.
Hope to see the car, and you, out next season all ready to 'attack the track'. It took a good two seasons to get my 3rd gen sorted, and it's fun as he!! now.

I'd go (being a NASA member and all...) but my car is dying quickly sad.gif Bearings are going according to oil analysis, rear shocks are dead, and power steering pump is fried again. *sigh*

However, if anyone wants to loan a car... biggrin.gif

Well.........I attended my first NASA event, and it will definately not be the last! Good time and great group of people!
Cars ranged from a VW Golf to a Lingenfelter (sp?) prepared ZO6. I had a chance to Instruct and it was a blast! although very tiresome blink.gif

Mike ( PF flyer ) sorry you could not make the event, was looking forward to meeting you.

Glad it was a good event.

We'll hook up at some point. It was a tough decision to make to not go, but ....
