My oldest daughter is moving to Seattle next weekend.
So, we're throwing her and Mr. Wonderful #8 a going away party.

I just finished seasoning the meat and it's in the oven right now ... 12 hours at 225*

Tomorrow at 2pm I'll throw them on the grill for some BBQ sauce and let them say their final prayers. I doubt there will be any survivors.

If you like salad ... don't stop by ...

You know Mitch, you have entirely too good of a sense of humor to be living in Texas. rotf.gif

Man....how far is it to DFW?

If I leave now I could be in Tex.......

ROADTRIP!!!!
GlennCMC70
i'll be :drive: 'ing my butt off on my way to your place by 1pm. :leaving:
trackbird
It's 1114 miles. By the time I'd get packed, I'd have about 14 hours. If I can average 80 mph, I'll be there on time.

I could probably pick up a few members in Nashville.....

I started to tell you to pick me up.....

I did average 87 mph between Columbus, OH and Road Atlanta a few years back. That included stops (3) and lunch at one stop. We set the cruise on "kill" and were on our way. (In a benign 2000 VW GTI VR6, the cops ignored that car).

And, we just bought another Silver GTI last night (2004)....

but really. yes, mitch and his wife are both very good cooks. i've eaten @ there place many a time. its a shame we all cant have a FRRAX GTG.

In due time.....

I think that would be a riot. Maybe something like the National F-body meet in Indy, but smaller. Road course, autocross, drag strip....ok, no drag strip (it just ties up road course time). If we could get enough bodies to make it, it could be fun.

Just give us time to grow some more....

It's 1891 miles, I have a full tank of gas, half a pack of smokes, it's dark, and I'm wearing sunglasses...

Bet that BBQ is so good it'll make you slap your pappy!

I've been known to damage a few pork ribs ...

For the brisket, I've added some bacon to the recipe.
We'll see. The house smells like a redneck reunion!

Does that thing have cop brakes, cop tires, and has the cat converter been removed....so it will run good on regular gas?

Sean, you're almost on the way.....

Why doesn't Mitch give us more warning for these things?

Heck, until I got sucked into Detroit I lived in Tennessee almost all my life. When people say "redneck" they're almost always thinking of either TN, AR, or MS.

Hell, I thought WV got the credit/blame for inventing/perfecting "redneck-hood". Geez, I guess I was misinformed.

Nah, West Virginia is too small to get credit for anything. ph34r.gif

I lived in Tennessee all my life until I was 26. I think that makes me an Orange neck!!

Yea, a FRRAX get together would be great. Maybe we can get one of the regional SCCA clubs to help host it!

Now where's that beer Mitch?? beerchug.gif drink.gif
mitchntx
The talk of ribs planted a hankering ... so ribs are on right now, as apetizers.

The beer is in the cooler at my feet.

And I ma typing this on a laptop on my wireless connection.

BBQ, beer and surfing ... does it get anay better?

I think the BBQ sauce needs a little kick ... homebrew kick ...

So what's on tap today, Brewmeister?
mitchntx
I have Cooper's Nut Brown Ale, Coopers Amber Ale and an Irish Blonde Ale.

Later on today, I've been saving my last bottle of prickely pear cactus mead for a special occasion.

And for the dumbass gringos, I have Mike's hard lemonade and Fat Tire beer, along with assorted soft drinks ...

Ribs are looking really swell ...
bruecksteve
Damn... you're making me hungry!!!! And thirsty!!! cool2.gif
