Full Version: 9th Annual F Body Motorsports Event 6/3-6/5 Indy

I've been to this event a few times now and it's great. There will be a couple of hundred F bodies there doing an open track day, autoxing, and drag racing. There's no better place to meet up with other F body owners and get ideas.

You have to join the mailing list though to register. Go to the web site below and read about the event. There's always a big Texas contingent, as well as Midwest, east, etc. If you come, there are caravans from all over the country you can join in on.

=======================================================
Just like the subject says, registration is now open for the 9th Annual
National F-body Motorsports Event (NFME) at Indianapolis Raceway Park from
June 3rd thru June 5th!!! To register, go to:

http://www.fbody-event.org/register.cgi

The best news is that prices have dropped on everything this year! The main
events, the hotel, the banquet... everything! This event is still one of the
best values around for the simple reason that EVERY SINGLE PENNY that you pay
goes directly back into making this event happen. That's the way its been
since the begining and that's the way it will always be...

Event/ Early Discount Normal Cost
Item Pay Before 3/31 Pay on 3/31 & After
=========== =============== ==================
Drag Race $61 $71
Road Course $145 $160
AutoX $38 $48
Car Show $0 $5

Spectators $21 $28
Misc Fee $13 $20
Banquet $28/head $35/head

If there are any problems whatsoever during the registration process let me
know ASAP by emailing me at L8APEKS@ATT.NET or Instant Messaging me at
L8APEKS.

Okay, now everyone go ahead and sign up and pay as soon as possible so we can
make our payment deadlines!

P.S. Please feel free to forward this to all f-body mailing lists and message
boards. And remember TWO things:

1) You must be a member of the event mailing list to register for and attend
the event.
2) No paying at the gate. You must register and pay before you arrive.

I've have signed up as well. Kentucky was also well represented last year. tongue.gif

9th Annual. Hard to believe. I guess it was seven years ago that I went to Memphis '97.

Those who have not been to this event owe it to themselves to go at least once. It is one heck of a lot of fun, and a great way to put faces to e-mail addresses.

I won't be there- got a full race schedule and we'll have an infant, too. smile.gif

I will be there again, this will be only my second time biggrin.gif
Hope to see another great KY turnout

Our Kentucky contingent (http://www.kyfbodies.org) was a sponsor of the event last year. This year I'm forgoing the drag so I can focus on running the road course and AX.

Maybe we can be a sponsor again! smile.gif

Chad, are your multi-tasking skills not up to snuff?? The drag racing is only one more event. tongue.gif

I'll be going for the first time this year.
Signed up for drags, RR and AX, no sense in not keeping busy.
Looking forward to it.

You'll be busy all right. Especially if you are changing tires. biggrin.gif

Hi All,

First off, thanks Mike for forwarding the announcement. Its also cool to see so many familiar folks here. So the question I have is: Why has everyone been holding out on me about this cool board wink.gif?!?!

Works for me Chad smile.gif!

For you guys signing up for all three events (we call that the Ironman), you're better folks than me. I did it... once. But there are folks who do it every single time they show up for the event. Talk about gluttons for punishment wink.gif.

So Ken, are you still in Belgium driving that Mini in the race series? When are you moving back here and buying a F body to have fun in again?
Ken Rahaim
I am still in Belgium but the season is over and the MINI is up for sale. I'm looking at buying an LS1 as soon as the MINI sells so I can start turning it into an AI car over the 2004 season* and run it regularly over the 2005 season when I get back home (that's the plan du jour anyway smile.gif).

*some folks go on vacation to Rome and Paris and London and Vienna when they live in Europe... me, I plan to go to an undisclosed garage in the U.S. somewhere to wrench on my f-body biggrin.gif .

Hey Ken, Good to see you here. I think I've run into a brick wall with the sponsorship we talked about. If anything changes I'll let you know, but I plan to be there in June.

Ken, thanks for posting the link to this board on the fbody-event list. Hi to all, it looks like a great board. I don't know how a managed to miss it for so long.

I can't wait for Indy this year! It will be my 3rd time to attend and my first attempt at the ironman! I just couldn't pass up the AX this year.
