Because of ongoing issues I have to make this statement:
Revalved Bilstien's are, and continue to be available from Strano Performance Parts. We do the valving specification, and forward that information to Bilstein in San Diego, at which time the shocks are pulled and revalved. Revalving is modifying a stock HD shock, that means two things are involved. 1. Once custom work has begun, they CANNOT BE CANCELLED. The shocks are valved to your specific needs, are not generic. 2. The process of ordering shocks, having them pulled, revalved, boxed, and shipped takes time. This time will vary depending on the time of the year and how backed up Bilstein is in the shop. There is no time guarantee expressed on the time this takes. Normally, this time of the year we are looking at about 3 weeks for delivery. Again, they are custom work done for the end user and are not stacked up ready to be shipped at a moments notice. I've never claimed they are, and they will never be. The tempation to start doing a more generic valving is too great, and I'd rather give the customer what he needs instead of what is easiest for me.
Recently, people are growing more and more impatient with regards to Revalves. This has been happening enough that upon ordering the customer is informed about the above when the shocks are being discussed.
We do Revalves to help the bridge the gap between Bilstein HD's and Koni's. We believe the HD's are too soft for performance applications, and we know the Koni's are not cheap to buy. If you are in a hurry and it's a short time frame and one that needs to be guaranteed, you should consider other dampers.
Thank you, and please feel free to forward to any place you feel it's relevant.
